Queen Matilda Tavern in Cotswold

Beautiful pub, great food, very welcoming and the owner is a nice dude. Highly recommended. I love the period timbers.

We popped in here for dinner during a long weekend in the Cotswolds, and are very glad that we did. I believe the pub has recently been renovated and the restaurant is beautifully presented.The food was excellent and the staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu has a good range of options, and the desserts were fantastic. I'd recommend booking if you can as it is rightly very popular, but we were fortunately able to get a table without a reservation.

Had dinner here after a tip from a local and was not disappointed. Super good, interesting and nicely presented and a lovely cosy atmosphere. I’ll be back when I’m next in the area!

Such a beautiful atmosphere in this Gastropub. The pictures on Google maps don’t do it justice at all but it really is a cute sophisticated pub/restaurant with lovely food and a curated interior. Quite a bit on the expensive side in my opinion though

Took some friends there fora Sunday lunch and we all really enjoyed the place, the service and the food.

Visited this lovely village pub whilst staying in Avening. Arrived at 6pm and it was quiet but it soon filled up with locals and visitors alike. There was a homely, traditional pub feel and the staff were warm and welcoming. The fish and chips were perfectly cooked and the regular portion was plenty, good selection of draughts on the bar too. Thanks!

Stayed overnight on 2 June whilst officiating at a golf tournament at Minchinhampton Golf Club, we arrived after 8pm and were welcomed by the landlady, Lynn. After a quick tour of the rooms, she told us that dinner would be available at our convenience after we had freshened up. The food was astoundingly superb with the Linguini being my particular favourite; all washed down with some lovely Cotswold cider!The rooms were clean bright, but still retained an old world charm, if I were to say anything negative, perhaps the window blinds could be a little darker.This is a hidden gem with exceptionally friendly staff and is well worth a stay. Wonderful landlady, great cooks delicious food, attentive bar staff and great waitresses. Comfortable beds, hot showers and fantastic coffee in the morning. Great to wake up to birds singing and the occasional clucking chicken who kindly provided our breakfast eggs. A slice of heaven on toast.

Great food, wonderful service, beautiful pub, wonderful selection of beers. Had a delightful Sunday roast lunch served promptly and featuring fresh ingredients. Pricing very reasonable as well. Will definitely be back and can't wait to try the menu on other days. Beautiful weeks nearby.
