Had a great experience here in the restaurant area. We arrived at 7 and it was completely quiet but soon became fully booked out. The atmosphere was nice, a cozy traditional pub vibe, and the staff were incredibly kind and helpful. Our server, for whom I did not take the name (although she was a lady with a non-native accent) was so so helpful in helping us decide what to have, to put on the fire for us and with answering our questions! Thank you to this lady. Now the food, was exceptional! I can understand now why this has two Rosettes, and I’m surprised this isn’t promoted more because it’s a great achievement. We ended up trying a few different dishes but I only managed to take pictures of the venison ‘big plate’ - which wasn’t very big and you definitely need something with it - which was amazingly tender and full of flavour! I also had the miso stick toffee pudding which was incredibly moist and a delight to eat. Every single thing we had on the menu on top of these were brilliantly cooked and flavourful. Definitely recommend anyone in the area to visit, albeit paying a premium for this quality meal.

We came here for a Sunday roast on 13/2/21. We had booked a table for 8 of us at 4.15 and we were quickly and professionally shown to a lovely table next to the fireplace. However, on entering the place an Indian member of our party was greeted with a “namaste” by someone sat at the front door, who appeared to be a member of staff although I’m not 100% sure that’s the case. This felt a little jarring and made him uncomfortable- perhaps not fair to reference in a review but we would be interested to know if other people had a similar experience. We had three courses, all of which were excellent- special mention to the pork, scallops and sizeable Yorkshire puddings! The beef was a little undersized, but overall it was a reasonable price for a very filling and good quality meal in a lovely setting.Service was a little variable. Andrew was charming, but other servers were a little abrupt or would walk off before we could get the chance to order additional drinks. The speedwas leisurely, but not too long.Ultimately a good dining experience but a few hiccups that stopped it being a top tier dinner.

Nice pub with bedrooms upstairs. Really friendly staff. Bit on pricey side for food.

Very good food some of it is over budget but the quality of food is excellent 👌 compared to my last visit which must of been over 7 years ago . And it's a cosy country pub on your way to Cheltenham or cirencester in the cotswolds .

After making the Cotswold gentleman top 50 list. Us Swindon gastronomes decided to venture amongst the loyal and faithful favourites. Not sure if the head chef is off on a Tuesday, the reasonably desolate pub filled only with a handful of locals, we endeavoured to try needs-to-be-brave menu for the price. A small pile of lemon squeezed smoked salmon accompanied a mid bland mayo with capers. We also tried a premium package bought liver parfait with skinny bread wafers, sadly disappointing for the exuberant prices.Mains were the popular (apparently) ranch beef brisket burger which missed the mark on the flavour front as the brisket was dry, burger hard and onion Bhaji what seemed like oven cooked from frozen. The finale was a micro fish sea bass, drizzled with caviar and lobster bisque. Should have been a starter for the size, and distinctly average flavour profile and with 2 glasses of red wine, felt wildly overcharged with an £86 bill. Such high hopes, so little delivered. I do hope the main chef performs better when he’s in the kitchen and not on his night off.

Cosy, attentive service and amazing food. The great quality of the food was an unexpected pleasant suprise, it felt like I was eating at a high-end restaurant.I also liked that they get most of their food from organic sources and they have good vegan options. We ate and then sat by a nice warm crackling fire for a good couple of hours.

Lovely stay at the Bathurst Arms with our friends! The food was also great. As others say it takes a few minutes to get used to the menu but once we did it was fabulous the local organic cheeses were particularly delicious. The staff were very good Simon even offered to post my pyjamas that I left under the pillow; very kind. The weather held off for a little while for us to enjoy the gardens of Cerney House just opposite which are an amazing little gem. Great stay we will stay again soon.

A great lunch and a different menu. Takes a while to understand the menu but very good. Staff well mannered and good service. Will be back when down next time

Very inventive menu with tapas style dishes. Unfortunately not every dish hit the mark but the ones that did were delicious and all dishes were presented beautifully. The fish dishes such as the Gilt-Head Bream was cooked brilliantly but the meat dishes probably need a bit more seasoning and more depth of flavour to make them something more memorable. The menu has really good ideas and flavour combinations, probably just needs a bit of tweaking on the cooking.Very nice outside garden space by the river and tipi tent for outdoor dinning and drinks. They don't have heaters but they do offer thick blankets for the colder evenings. The service was good and friendly, one small mistake of not receiving the coffee I had ordered but that wasn't a big deal.

Lovely pub with large outdoor seating area. Small plates /tapas like food. Nice idea Very nice but so busy service let it down. Nice walks from here so a good start and end place for a drink. Large car park. Ducks as well with steam. . Nice setting
