Last minute booking for Sunday lunch. Welcoming, friendly service in a traditional, cosy pub.Dog friendly too.We both had a roast dinner; chicken and lamb. Good portions and very tasty with a generous side of fresh veg.Had to sample the puddings after such a great lunch! Went for sticky toffee pudding with ice cream and chocolate brownie cheesecake with ice cream. Both puddings were presented beautifully with fruit and a wafer biscuit to garnish. The sticky toffee pudding was divine; light but rich and full of flavour. The cheesecake was smooth and chocolate. Both of us left clean plates! Will definitely be back for more and will recommend to friends.

Excellent service, friendly locals pub but nice to outsiders also. The Pea and Ham soup is amazing. Would recommend sitting by thr hearth and ordering a guinness with the black pudding fritters.

A lovely, rustic Cotswold pub. If you want gentrified Cotswolds than this place is possibly not for you, but if you like friendly and welcoming owners and great homemade food in a relaxed setting than this a great find!

Really nice tasting local Ale. Fish and chips was one of the best I've ever had. Food was served quickly, it was hot and the portions were massive! Would highly recommend to anyone thinking about coming here 👌

A great local pub. We popped in for a drink and bite to eat on a walk. The staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. The sandwiches were fantastic. All good value for money too. Can't wait to visit again.

I can't stress how awful the food is, it's just disgusting. We got simple items thinking soup and chips couldn't be that bad. The tomato soup was NEON pink and cold. The chips were like they'd been carved from costwold stone. They were rock hard shells with no potato in them. We had to leave the whole lot. And the bill for the two soups, one chips and a couple of soft drinks cost £20! The pub setting is full of posters with offensive outdated views about women and religion. We felt so sick when we left we had to go to the nearest shop to buy some gum to get rid of the taste.

To find this beautiful pub at roughly half way through our walk was an absolute godsend. A lovely bowl of chips and gravy washed down by a nice cold pint went down an absolute treat I'm such a picturesque setting.

Good pint and friendly staff & locals. We did a circular walk from Bourton on the water and this was an ideal Stop for a pint

The midpoint for a walk with friends, and a delightful welcome form attentive and helpful staff. Great food, and large portions meant that we were all very happy indeed. The setting is lovely, the pub characterful, and I fully intend to return. Probably more than once!
