Where is The Ebrington Arms Restaurant?

🏠 May Ln, Ebrington, Chipping Campden GL55 6NH

"Quintessential Cotswold pub with rooms with many accolades for food. The Ebrington Arms is the UK's No 1 Pub in the UK as awarded by The Telegraph newspaper and Sawdays. It was also 2019 Dining Pub of the Year in the Good Pub Guide. The perfect getaway for romantic foodie breaks to explore the gorgeous Cotswold villages (Chipping Campden Broadway, Stow on the Wold, The Slaughters, Bibury etc), some of England's most glorious walks and National Trust properties such as Hidcote Gardens and Snowshill Manor. It's also only a few miles from historic Stratford Upon Avon. Expect roaring fires, flagstone floors in a sympathetically restored property dating back to 1640s. Beautiful bedrooms, countryside views, beer garden & parking."

Lovely place def worth a visit, staff were fabulous managed to fit us in when we turned up, nothing was too much trouble. Premium feel, great menu. Yourshire puddings were perfect and really fabulous to see something different on the menu for veggie options.

Fantastic menu, really excellent selection. Good service and great beer garden

Very disappointing ale, badly poured.A lot of vegetarian food on the menu plus the usual formulaic boring regulars….burger….fish and chips….over priced steak etc etc.Used to be a lovely pub but now since sold, average, despite the beautiful historic building.Second time we’ve tried it since being sold as someone said it had improved …..it hasn’t.There won’t be a third.Much better off heading towards Ilmington in my opinion

Lovely country pub with excellent menu. Very welcoming staff with friendly professional service. The food was delicious and definitely recommend eating here. Lots of walkers but also families and friends eating here too, although we didn't see any young children. The floors are stone so some of us with muddy boots took them off and left them at the door and some were better prepared and had bags around their boots. However there are no signs asking for us to remove our boots...it's just a thoughtful thing. There is a car park if you aren't a walker. I recommend the gooseberry mille feuille for desert. Stuff of dreams.

We have been to the pub several times over the last few years and this is the first time back in two years. Im afraid to say that the standard has fallen since then. We went for a Sunday afternoon lunch. I had booked on Friday for two people on of whom has a gluten intolerance. I was told that that wasnt a problem. I could see that the pub has been enlarged to cater for more covers. It was very busy when we got there. I had roast pork which was average quality and could have been hotter. My wife also asked for roast beef and she was served with a Yorkshire Pudding which had to be taken away because it wasnt gluten free. Also the gravey wasnt gluten free because she had a stomach ache afterwards. The pudding was average. Service was just about adequate. I can see that the staff were very busy but I think for a good experience they need to pay more attention to detail. Gluten intolerance people always seem to miss out-surely they could have provided another roast potatoe instead of the Yorkshire. Also the cost of the main was ÂŁ20 which was too much. Will not be returning

What a disappointment. We were staying in the village on a family break and booked this (apparently) well-known gastropub as a special Saturday night out. Previous reviewers have apparently felt unwelcome just going in for a drink rather than a meal. Well we'd booked a table for dinner for 5 in advance and felt about as unwelcome as it would be possible to feel short of turning up with a tax demand. The tone was set when we arrived in a not overly-busy bar area where we were rudely ignored by every single member of staff whilst standing next to the discouraging rampart of dirty glasses which occupied one whole end of the bar and gave the place the ambience of a student bar. Having finally negotiated some drinks we decided to move to our table earlier rather than later given the slowness of the service. Another hiatus followed while staff tried to find our table, despite our being a party of 5 and there being a table in plain sight laid up for 5.20 further minutes of being ignored followed before we attracted someone to take our order. A request for more drinks and some bread & olives to share whilst we waited created another crisis. Some of the drinks arrived, others had to be re-ordered. The bread (3 small pieces for a table of 5) eventually arrived, but simultaneously with the starters. These were middling but pricey at ÂŁ8-9 each. The main courses were a farce. 3 of our party had ordered steak - one rare, one medium-rare, one medium (scarcely a challenging order for a gastropub). None arrived as ordered. The rare was overcooked, the medium bloody and the medium-rare seared on the outside and cold in the middle. They managed to get one right on being asked to try again, but the second attempt at rare was poor and the re-heated medium-rare was as tough as shoe leather. We also ended up essentially eating in three shifts rather than enjoying a meal together. The pub did reduce our bill for the two inedible meals but overall this was a desperately mediocre experience. This place appears to be living on its past reputation (previously voted "Best Pub in England" but has changed hands since), but unless they can get their act together I would suggest people travel to the adjacent villages where they might feel welcome and get a decent meal.

Really nice place to be and eat but a very limited menu. However the wine list does have a more varied choice. Staff very pleasant. Well worth a visit for a special occasion. Will definitely be returning again.

Highly disappointed. I had read such great reviews and heard so many good things but when we arrived, we were seated at our table - my partner was given the wrong drink twice with a coke that neither of us had heard, alternatives weren't provided. The starter - the salmon, was sufficient however the main, ÂŁ26 pound ribeye steak - didn't live up to the hype. No sauce was provided, no condiments were offered. The best part of the night was the dessert - sticky toffee pudding was a good choice. Wait times between meals were too long, drinks came out at a reasonable time but ÂŁ75 bill for not much of an experience. Wouldn't come again.

Delightful place, high up on a ridge overlooking fantastic views of cotswolds. Fish and chips were perfect light crisp batter and beautifully white fish. Friend had burger cooked to perfection . Lovely pub with log burners plenty of seating.
