Good pub lots of room, but needs a lot of work to bring it up to scratch

Possibly the worst carvery we’ve ever had. Slap dash food with soggy roast potato’s and tough meat. Booked for Mother’s Day and was told the full menu would be on offer only to arrive and be told it’s carvery only with no vegetarian option. The restaurant looks like it could do with a good clean and a sort out. A dishwasher was next to our table that looks like it hadn’t been cleaned for some YEARS. Would not go back nor recommended.

We ordered cauliflower wings and only told us they had none left when the rest of the food arrived. So ordered vegan nachos to replace, turns out they had cheddar cheese on them! Which funnily enough isn’t vegan. They gave us a refund but was overall dissatisfied.

Good service, parking a little tight. Great food and friendly atmosphere

Nice pub. We were here on a Sunday lunchtime. Free cake at the bar! Good range of beer. Decent prices, welcoming staff. Innovative use of TV wall bracket to mount a fan heater..

I only called in for a drink so not sure on the rooms. The bar was ok, decor a bit tired and a wider selection of ales would be better but friendly staff. I would visit again but wouldn't go out of my way to.

Good old fashioned Pub, food excellent at reasonable prices. Some rooms need updating but no real problems. Very helpful and friendly staff, would recommend eating there or staying there.

Nice pub with wide range of drinks but food quality is poor and didn't know what was included with meal and hadn't got half the ingredients ended up getting a refund for my meal as they got it so wrong.

Good pub food in a clean, and lively establishment. Guinness was top notch too, a rare find these days. Staff were very helpful and chatty. The dog is cute looking, but a cheeky food nabbing scamp, be warned!

Had a lovely steak here last month. Went there again on Friday and had a nice sausage & mash followed by apple pie & custard. But today Sunday carvery was a joke! I booked a table. Had to wait 15 mins for my drink. The carvery had basically ran out. We ended up with the dreggs that was left. The beef was grissley & couldn't cut it up never mind eat it! Very poor. I refused to pay the full price it was that bad.It needs more staff who know how to run the place I'm afraid
