I was greeted by the warm and accomadidatng staff. Every one was kinder than next making sure we were well taken care of. We came upon this beautiful place by accident and can't wait to come back and stay on these beautiful grounds with these charming people. I felt like I was brought to heaven.

Overpriced. Rude staff. Pretentious. Uncomfortable atmosphere. We had booked in advance- online, where we were given no option of where in the restaurant we wanted to be seated. We arrived with our dog and were informed that we should either ‘leave the dog in the car’ or we would have to sit at the bar area. Fine, I understand dogs are not allowed everywhere, but the way this was said to us was incredibly rude, snobby and unaccommodating. You cannnot just leave your dog in the car. Having been sat down, we asked why we couldn’t sit in the restaurant area with the dog and were told ‘that’s just the rules’. Again fine. But rude and unhelpful. We waited 20 minutes to be given a food menu. Another 25 minutes for our order to be taken (when we asked if we could order food we were told ‘yes yes my colleague will come)… 15 minutes later they came. Staff were incredibly rude and cold, we did not feel we were looked after at all. We then waited, and waited, and waited. We had only ordered mains. We kept trying to get someone’s attention but they were blatantly avoiding and ignoring us. Our drinks had been finished long ago and no one had come to clear them away or even let us order another round. After 1 hour, we asked the manager where our food was as we had now been sat down for over 1 hour and a half. His answer was unbelievably rude. He said ‘yes yes it’s coming, it’s because there was a problem with you bringing your dog’. This was all said in the most dismissive tone as he walked away, absolutely no apology instead just blamed us. I then went to check my booking email to see if it made a difference whether we were sat in the restaurant or the bar. At the bottom of my booking email it says “Tables may be allocated in the Bar area, Snug or Restaurant, subject to availability”. This obviously suggests that it should make absolutely no difference how we are served regardless of what area of the pub we are seated in. So instead of apologies the blame was put on us. We then heard the manager go and talk within earshot with his colleague about how we had been complaining and what could he do about it!! We then waited another 25 minutes at which point we tried again to grab someone’s attention over and over again. Finally after we asked again where our food was, our food came, 2 hours after we had been sat down. It was fine but not worth £30 at all. The prices are ridiculous, you wouldn’t even pay these prices for what we ate in London. The whole time the staff were rude and cold and ignored us. Never once was an apology or explanation offered eventhough we were obviously upset. We left as quickly as we could once we had paid. I would not recommend this at all. Furthermore, the pub as a whole is just snobby and pretentious. Avoid.

Nice venue but very rude staff. We came on a Saturday for lunch for 2, and instead of being accommodating, we were greeted with snobbery and arrogance. Even if they were fully booked, it turns out they have a bar menu; funny how they forgot to mention that. Instead of offering solutions, the staff turned the blame on us and explained how we were the problem. Come here for the view, but don’t expect a warm welcome.

Had a lovely dinner here. Food was top notch like Michelin star really. Great views and lovely decor. Staff amazing. Not cheap but worth it !

Amazing food. But terrible, dysfunctional service and lousy ambience. When paying £130 a head including wine you expect a little theatre - along the lines of what am I eating, is it locally sourced? Also, you don’t expect food and cutlery to be plonked clumsily on the table as you might at do at home. The staff were generally uninterested in serving, particularly the male maitre’d. However, glad we weren’t the table opposite who appeared to have a worse experience waiting an hour to be served. Go for the food. Avoid for the price, service and decor.

Make sure you don’t arrive hungry! We were finally given food 90mins after being seated and our main 2hours after being seated. Staff grumpy and made us feel invisible. When the food came it was delicious and the restaurant is beautiful but it’s expensive for such bad service. We ended up leaving not having time for pudding and overall not a good experience sadly.

It wasn't very welcoming. We should of walked out. Just felt that they didn't want us there but we stayed and had a meal. Burgers which were nice. My friend order chicken pieces which was a starter, she wasn't prewarned about. Not impressed. Will not go back.

Did we visit the same restaurant as the other reviewers??We visited the feathered nest for an evening meal as part of our post-wedding mini-moon and we're left hungry, both figuratively and literally. The food was alright but definitely not up to the standard expected of a £300+ meal for 2.We had the 6 course tasting menu with wine paring (only paired for 5 courses). While the food tasted good, the portion sizes were comical, leaving us both hungry for more.By far the biggest detractor of the evening was the atmosphere ... the phrase cold and pretentious barely does justice here. Despite spending over £300 on dinner the staff were not knowledgeable about the food or the wine and left us feeling like an inconvenience the whole night.Such a shame because the food and location have great potential but small portion sizes coupled with the almost hostile atmosphere really let's them down.Save your money, there are so many amazing places in the cotswolds where the service won't give you frostbite.

Excellant meal...every mouthfuls a pleasure.Service relaxed yet attentive. Some very unusual combinations..but all worked.Ate from alacarte menu and about 5 options per course and was separate vegan menu for £40.00Considering we were eating during storm Frederick and eunice everything smooth and unruffled.Rhubarb pudding large and symphony of flavours..Carrot starter with ginger bread..granola ..foam and sorbet unique.Would come again for special occasion

Yet another absolutely foot perfect visit! This time we we were lucky enough to stay at the new accommodation which is The Cottage, literally couldn’t have asked for more! So very well set out, dogs are also welcome, stunning decor, comfy bed, 10/10 bathroom & made us feel at home instantly!Dinner was outstanding again & they pulled out all the stops - it’s so worth the visit every single time! Can’t wait to come back again!
