The Golden Cross Pub in Cotswold
Where is The Golden Cross Pub?
🏠 20 Black Jack St, Cirencester GL7 2AA
"Set on a medieval street, this early 18th-century inn with lodging is a 1-minute walk from the Corinium Museum and a 4-minute walk from Cirencester Park. The straightforward rooms include en suite bathrooms, plus WiFi, flat-screen TVs, DVD players, and tea and coffeemaking facilities. There's also a 2-room family suite and an apartment with a kitchen and living area (both sleeping up to 4 guests). The traditional pub features a log fireplace and a beer garden with a fish pond, and offers real ales and an airy dining area with a brasserie-inspired menu. There's also a function room with a bar billiards table."

A party of 12 including 5 mums for Mothers day on Sunday and the staff coped admiralby. Serving staff were brilliant the kitchen staff in such a small kitchen performed miracles not only producing quality food but hot food as well. The portions were ridiculously large and they could cut back on the sizes and reduce the costs to their customers and their business.Very happy all round and would 100% recommend. The only negative is the lack of parking

Called by for a light lunch and chose this pub from the menu on the door. Friendly staff and a nice open atmosphere. Rugby was on but without taking the place over. Food was good, with the chunky chips a highlight and the Arkels beer was on form. Could have settled in for the second match but was under orders to have a walk around Chelmsford. Doggy friendly.

Happened to be passing by when we stopped into The Golden Cross. Dog friendly which is plus for me but understandably not everyone. Food was quick out the door after our order, pretty good selection of Ales and with the fire place going it was a great place to hide from the rain. When I’m back in England I’ll make sure to stop in again.

Price a tiny bit higher than others, but the room is spacy for the price. Book earlier, as rooms may run out. Pub menu is orthodox, but the dishes shocked me of their quantity and taste. 5/5 Would recommend

Had the pleasure of staying recently and can't fault the staff or establishment at all. The food was tasty, drinks were spot on and the staff were all friendly. 👍👍

Had a 2,45 dinner booked. Had to ask for service as too few staff. Waited 20 minutes for drinks to arrive then asked if there is a further wait for food. Was told it would be a minimum of half an hour. The place was fully booked and only 2 staff who to be fair were doing their best. So we said we d cancel. They were kind enough to say the drinks were on the house tho.

Good in town pub. Good food. Pub dogs can be annoying though but owners try to keep on top of them ( foodscroungers )

Really dreadful experience here. Arrived today and were told food was available until "about 9.30." Then when we tried to order were told the kitchen was closed Monday to Wednesday. And then that the whole pub was shutting at 8.30pm. And then that they only did breakfasts Saturday and Sunday. None of which is on their website.Do not, repeat do not book here.

The food was delicious! Absolutely fantastic. So nice to eat somewhere where the food is better than what I make at home! I highly recommend. Also, BIG portions. You get a lovely pint here as well. I would put 6 stars if I could.
