The Hollow Bottom in Cotswold

Absolutely fantastic! Our taxi driver dropped us off at this little pub and it has to be one of the best in the Cotswolds! We loved everything about it. The food is rooted in English tradition with an amazing modern take. Yum!

It’s always so impressive when restaurants in little places like Guiting Power offer such a wide selection of well prepared and interesting foods. Who would have thought that Devilled Kidneys could be so delicious, they were outstanding. Smoked mackerel was delicious. Our mains of Beef Cheeks and Grilled Bavette of beef were also very good. The apple and rhubarb crumble was very good, but would have been amazing if there was rhubarb in it....apparently they ran out of it, oh well.The pub itself is very warm and inviting , super friendly and helpful staff. If you are in the area, it’s well worth visiting.

We booked for a late lunch at 4.30. The welcome and experience were great. The guys couldn't do enough for us and made our day with their friendliness and banter. Our grandson was especially taken with the "magic" coin trick! A great time was had by all, and of course the food was great too! I hope to return soon.

The food was not up to the standard I would expect, I had fish and chips, I don't think it was Cod (should have asked) the seasoning was non-existent, didn't think much of the chips either. My friends had roast beef which was pretty much the same standard as my meal. They were serving Youngs beer which is a favourite of mine so at least they got that right.

Busy and fully booked on a Saturday lunchtime, which is good to see. Youngs have taken over recently too from previous owners - and their great beers were available. Good menu to suit all tastes, friendly and efficient staff. Splendid location in The Cotswolds.

Outstanding village pub. We were welcomed in with open arms despite having no booking on a Sunday at 1 o' clock. Fire was roaring, the beer was excellent, food exquisite and the service was superb. If you want an example of what a country pub should be, this is it!

My wife and I have just had lunch with friends and it was sublime. We have been visiting pubs between Evesham and Highworth where we both live for several years and this has been the best experience. The lightest of soufflés , the shortest of pastry’s , the most tender meat -all at the same time being looked after by the wonderful Jonny.We will definitely be going back.

Absolutely amazing place! food was great! service from Oscar was awesome! Only big negative was the manager.. never have a met such a rude manger, zero customer service skills. Rang up to advise we we're running a few mins late, booked for 3 and arrived by 3.15. Was told the kitchen closed at 3 and made a massive issue out of it, when told him we had rang up to tell them of the delay which he then went on to argue that nobody had rang pointing at the phone, even showed him the call made but still wasn't having it. Told him if it was an issue we would go elsewhere, he said like I've told you its not a problem.. BUT and went on to give us details again.. clearly was a problem.

Lovely view when sat at the front of the pub. Quiet and fresh. The food was lovely too (apart from the aniseed in the vegan burger I ordered). Husband said this was the best steak he's had in a very long time. Perfectly cooked and the sauce was great. We'd definitely recommend and most probably visit again.

We had two of the vegetarian/vegan dishes and they were really delicious - the burger and veggie sweet potato and chilli dish. Fresh homemade meals with plant based foods rather than meat substitutes. We really enjoyed the meals as well as the atmosphere in the restaurant. The staff were so friendly too! We would definitely return when in the Cotswolds again.
