The rabbit and rarebit (cheese) on toast will change your life. Trust me. Absolutely amazing The venison was divine as well.

Cannot fault this place! The food and service were amazing! Can’t wait to come back.

We visited The Plough en route from Cheshire to Dorset today. I had extensively researched the area and decided that this pub had everything we needed. It did not disappoint. The pub itself is charming, the staff courteous and professional, and the food absolutely delicious. I’m sure it will become a regular stop for us when we’re in the area. Thank you.

Lovely place to be with the dogs, they even had dog beds for our elderly girl but the puppy wanted one too. I recommend the Barnsley chop and they made us the mint sauce fresh too.

Had disappointing lunch for a 60th birthday! The table was in a dark, cramped corner and the food was poor. The sole was just bones and one mouthful of fish at the most and the vegetarian Thai curry was bland. The service was so poor that we ended up clearing the table ourselves before desserts. The only good point was the sticky date pudding which was lovely. Definitely won’t be returning or recommending.

Very disappointing meal and service. Booked for a special occasion and given a cramped table with dead flowers on it! Been here for drinks previously and liked it but wouldn't eat here again.

We received a warm welcome upon entry and was seated in front of the fire. We requested to be moved as the heat from the fire was too intense for us, the team member was very accommodating and moved us further away. We asked the member of the team what was on the sharing BBQ platter, she was quite vague what this included. We went ahead and ordered as we had previously read the description on the website, also ordering mussels as a starter, the mussels were delicious. Our platter arrived and we had also ordered a portion of fries, it also said on the menu that the platter was served with with salad, which we did not receive, we spoke to the team member about this but this was offered half way through the meal. The platter consisted of 5 Chicken wings, a very small rack of ribs, which consisted of 5 bones, corn and peppers. This is also very curious, how do you divide 5 wings and 5 bones amongst two people this was at a cost of £30. This is extremely expensive for a few wings and a very small rack of ribs. It was cooked perfectly but not what you would expect for 2 people. We spoke to two members of the team who smiled, agreed with us and did nothing. This pub has a nice atmosphere, but we were deeply disappointed at the amount of food at a cost of £30 and believe this problem should have been dealt with in an appropriate manner, hence the one star.Thank you for your response but unfortunately we have now returned home which is a three hour drive. Shame no one tried on the night.

Recently stayed here for 2 night with our 2 small dogs the room was disgusting and filthy, just because you have dogs does not mean you do not have high standards. Carpet was disgusting with dirty marks on it, walls needed a coat off paint.Bathroom toilet seat was loose, flush broken, mould round bath, dirty shower head and hose.Went for breakfast, no cereal fruit etc on display, ordered full breakfast which was cold, so second morning visited nearby village for a proper decent hot breakfast. This cost £200 pound and would never stay here again, yes should have complained but do not like confrontation and was glad just to leave

Myself and the missis visited The Plough as we were staying at the campsite up the road. We were greeted by a cheerful fella behind the bar who guided us to our prebooked table. I had a cider which was very nice👍 Zoe had a pils.We had starters and mains, steak x2 beautifully served by happy smiley waitress, total bill £75.A lovely little pub, my only moan is that the sauces with the food were too salty. But that's my taste maybe. 😉

Lovely little pub - the BBQ board was absolutely delicious. Staff was friendly, although a little overwhelmed given how busy it was on a Wednesday night, but it was a lovely place to stay so it didn't matter at all. Would definitely come again!
