The Volunteer Inn Pub in Cotswold

Lovely location and excellent prices on drinks also the Indian restaurant as part of the pub is really good

Our stay was excellent. Rooms, breakfast, helpful staff. One particular aspect stood out. I had left a a very meaningful object there. I didn’t realize it until the next day and Peter and his wife found it and transported to our next hotel. Going beyond for me. I am so grateful for the wonderful good deed.

Very small (but easy to sort) things made this not full marks. No bedside light so you had to stumble around in the pitch black to find a light to switch on. There are 2 wall lights but not easy to reach, nor find in the pitch black. Also the cupboard which had the hanging rail was stuffed full of a spare fold up bed, I couldn't hang my dress anywhere. Otherwise it was really fantastic.

We didn’t go into the pub itself, so can’t comment, but the Indian restaurant (Maharaja) attached was fantastic, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere and superb food.

Nice welcoming place to stay, huge garden and cosy rooms with good breakfast.

Stopped for a drink, so wish we hadn't the wine and beer were dreadful, the place looked dirty as was the language being used around the bar extremely strong and offensive so much so we left our drinks after less than 10 minutes.

Stayed for a couple of nights in order to attend a wedding nearby. Room was warm and comfortable which was just what was needed on a very cold weekend outside. Breakfast was plentiful with a good choice and staff were friendly and helpful. Would stay again.

One word. Superb. Highly recommend. Has the whole package. Location, great staff, clean and quiet rooms, superb food, and friendly people to chat to. Soon to be a regular.

Big rooms, clean, and surprisingly quiet considering how close to the road where it sits. A little far for walking from the Cotswold Way, but we did! Nice food in the pub.

Good locals pub in Chipping Campden. Friendly staff and customers. Last visit was two weeks ago. My wife and I really like the pub and often go there on a weekend daytime as only live fifteen minutes drive away.
