This afternoon cream tea was one of the finest I’ve ever had. Clean and bright atmosphere and attentive staff. Scones came warm and tall, with luxurious Devonshire cream and black currant jam. You deserve it!

Adorable cafe, and definitely a diamond in the ruff! According to the lady at the next table over, these are the best scones in southern England, and although my scone expertise is not as extensive as hers, they were delicious. The tea was excellent, too, and the staff was friendly (and knowledgeable on the correct order of clotted cream, jam, etc.). The scones were massive and each order came with two scones and a large pot of tea, so with four of us we only needed two orders. I wish I could go back a second time!

I went here with my family for afternoon tea and it was delicious. The staff was friendly and fast. The scones and tea were fantastic and reasonably priced for the portions given.

Excellent. We stopped in for scones, tea and clotted cream. The scones were huge and delicious. Service was top notch.

Wonderful experience having afternoon tea here. The room was very nice for our large group and everyone enjoyed it. The tea was excellent.

The Afternoon Tea we had was very disappointing, equalled by the service we received. We had to wait some time to be served while the place was literally empty. We called ahead with dietry requirements that, while not complex, were not recorded so it resulted in an awkward conversation with the waitress about what the ingredients were for each item. She seemed completely flustered by our questions and we never saw her again until I had to hunt someone down so we could pay the bill. The food didn't taste fresh, the cakes tasted stale and the macaroons were a very bad batch. Crunchier than kettle chips!. We are used to having our sandwiches renewed at other Afternoon Teas but here we were never even given the option to ask.It felt like the 1 waitress we had was pulled away from serving the 4 different Afternoon Tea groups to wait on the bar while nobody replaced her.Overall a very poor experience. I'm sure the other restaurant in the hotel is better, that's where the staff seemed to be.

Had a really good meal, lovely food and excellent wine. Went for 3 course menu than 7 course taster. As we got to extra courses anyway not sure why you'd pay extra for the taster!

great place for afternoon tea. Also good tea and atmosphere. Would have again in a heartbeat! Great little town too!

The food here was delicious. Very much lived up to the fine dining experience. The atmosphere was perfect, not too busy and not too empty. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. It didn't feel too stuffy. We had the 3 course a la carte menu and they served 2 extra small dishes. Perfect amount of food. Great restaurant if you want something special.

Excellent food, elegant ambiance and really attentive service - highly recommended (NB - this is a fine dining restaurant so don't expect large portions. Also, there was no gratuity option on the card machine so you need cash to leave a tip - which we didn't have, sorry!).
