Went in some weeks back had the chicken curry it was lovely just been back and this time I had the hunters chicken must say it was dry I guess it was pre made and reheated not a problem with that but maybe put more sauce on before serving. I did say after I'd paid as I wasn't looking for a freebie it was really dry.

Brilliant Sunday Carvery - very good for small children, the play area is small but ideal to keep the children occupied for a bit. The staff were absolutely amazing, obviously thinking about all the customers and being proactive, for instance offering to help out when I had my hands full with food and children. Food was great too!

Food was OK. Meat a big tough on the carvery. 9.50 for a double gin and tonic. A tad dear.

We've recently been twice for Sunday carvery with our grandaughter and it's been excellent. Meat perfect; great choice of fresh veg; stuffing well seasoned; potatoes crisp on the outside and fluffy in the middle etc. Staff were attentive and welcoming. On our visit today at 2pm they had ran out of gammon but still had 4 x meat choices. Our grandaughter didn’t want any meat except gammon. When the chef heard this he went out of his way to to find some and he did. When we finished we had some meat leftovers and having 3 hungry dogs at home requested some kitchen foil but they had this covered as well and brought us some takeaway containers. The inside kiddies play area is great and allowed us to relax. Probably 1st went to this place 20 years ago, totally changed over the years and recommend it now.

Ridiculously slow service. Child’s meal came out and and the adults were left another 45mins after asking twice when could we go and get our food. Some of the veg was cold.We then had to ask for desserts as no one came to ask us if we wanted anything else. One of the ice creams was then not given. When we went to complain the man on front of house was incredibly rude and went off to get the ice cream and slammed in on the desk. Absolutely disgusting service

Had a lovely meal at the Cat and Fiddle Inn, my partner and I both had the carvery, there was plenty of choice and it was scrummy. Staff were really friendly and attentive and it just had a nice relaxed atmosphere. The best bit is the soft play area, had our 2 year old with us and he played in there the whole time, thoroughly loved it. We obviously sat in the family area and it was pretty much fall, loads of kids all having a blast and when they sat to eat they were all so quiet and content. Really recommend if you've got little ones and a lot of 'family' pubs could really learn something from the Cat and Fiddle, can't wait to go back 👍

very large pub, not far from Exeter. one of four pubs owned by the same family. there was a group of 11 of which 3 were children. we all had the roasts. it was very good apart from the sprouts and gravy. the sprouts were overcooked and the gravy was very thick and lumpy. the roast was a very good price. the staff were very nice and helpful. the decor was very good. would recommend.

Just had an excellent carvery here. It was our little granddaughter's first restaurant eat out and her parents were able to eat and be near her. They have a super indoor soft play with lots of well-spaced family tables overlooking the play area and a roomy, well maintained toilet and changing area in this family orientated room. It is separated sufficiently from other areas for those who need a more adult environment .... so everyone is happy. The food was succulent, tasty and plentiful. The staff were so welcoming, attentive an helpful - we felt relaxed and really enjoyed ourselves. We will definitely be back.

Excellent evening at the Cat and Fiddle. The staff were friendly and accommodating. We rang to book at short notice and spoke to a lovely member of staff called Sam. We went straight over to the Cat and Fiddle and were greeted and seated quickly and orders taken. There were 4 in our party and we each had different meals. I had one of rhe last carvers of the evening as they end at 8pm and it was 20 to when I collected my meal from the carvery counter. The gentleman carving rhe meat was so very polite and had excellent customer service. He even told me about meals on other days. Very refreshing to have such a lovely experience. The food was tasty and there was plenty of it. The layout of the serving buffet allowed for space between myself and other clients who were putting veg on their plates so I felt Covid safe. The restaurant and bar area both had open airy zones so that clients could sit at the table and not be too closely packed in near others. Over all this was a very lovely experience and I am very much looking forward to returning and having another meal here. The car park area was very large, there is another entrance for disabled access and the inside has flat areas so if you arepushing someone it makes it far easier on you.

Had a really lovely meal last night, which was great value for money. The Carvery was really big and the gentleman serving was super friendly even offering the kids a taste of the different meats available. Seating was well spaced out and was really nice inside, recommended for families.
