Service. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Price. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Food. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Stunning little place. Tidy, well maintained and very lively when we arrived. Think it was the locals making the most of the evening sun!We were greater by Jose who was an absolute darling and made us feel so welcome. Our waiter Tom was equally amazing and I could see the entire team were equally attentive with the other guest. Starter and mains were delicious and well portioned, all very simple dishes and all done very well. The only thing I would say the masons arms could do with is a dedicated pastry chef. Though the pudding was very nice, not one bad thing to say about it, it did lack that final punch of wow that every pastry chef is under pressure to deliver. As its the last course its also the first thing people usually remember most.

We love the Masons Arms! Make sure you ask for Tom, we travel the country for a living and he’s one of the best hosts we have ever met! We will be back for tom, and the lovely fresh mussels! ….and don’t forget a pint of the branscombe ale

We had a really pleasant lunch yesterday at The Masons Arms. Lovely atmosphere inside. The food was excellent, Tom was really nice and attentive toward us, as were all his colleagues. An extremely good experience all round. Will definitely return and would recommend it to anyone without hesitation. See you again soon!

Back to the Masons Arms after its extensive renovation, and what a wonderful experience: We went for dinner and it was superb. The bar remains cosy, with a log fire burning and an extensive selection of beers and wines available for a pre-dinner drink. The bar staff were professional and knowledgeable. Then through to the private room, called the Thatch, where Tom looked after us along with others in the team. The kids had burgers which looked superb, and there was nothing left when the kids finished - a good sign. The mussels were also excellent, as was the beer-battered cod. In addition to an enhanced focus on the food, a lot of effort has gone into the decor and tableware, with lovely glasses and each table nicely set up for guests.Service couldn't have been better with nothing too much trouble, and all staff friendly and professional. On the way out, we met the manager (Dan?) who was engaging, friendly and rightly proud of what has been created. For those who are in any doubt whether the Masons is back to its glory days, come and visit again - it's as good as it has been since we started coming 15 years ago.Only one small suggestion - although extensive, the wine list feels a little bland compared to the surroundings, service and food. Perhaps an additional, special wine list curated by someone knowledgeable in the pub would work well, as would putting the origin of the meat and fish on the menu (especially if sourced close to Branscombe).

Very nice meal, delicious food. Joseph is the greatest waiter I’ve had the pleasure of being served by. He’s clearly so passionate about providing an amazing experience for his guests.

My husband has known of this pub for many years and it has always had a good reputation. On a very recent visit he was a little disappointed by some of the dinner he had. The first course was onion soup which was excellent. However the main course he found disappointing. The brill was not brilliant. What there was of it was very tasty and nicely prepared. However, being a big man with a good appetite he found the size of the fish really rather parsimonious. He was also disappointed not to have been served vegetables on the side. The service however was excellent but he did leave feeling hungry. I am sure the main course would have been adequate for a smaller person with a slender appetite.

Arrived for lunch and was given a short menu , which wasn't advertised outside or on web site. A 4oz burger. Not sure why a std 8oz burger isn't available? And really not much choice. On waiting at the bar, I over heard another customer order 1 pint of draught lemonade and 2 small bottles of tonic and was charged £8.. YES £8!!! So wr left as that was absolutely extortionate, esp with minimal lunch food choice

It's a very convenient location for Branscombe and the church. We stayed for a wedding. The place was nice and clean and the staff were very friendly, however it's expensive for what you get but may be comparable for the area. The only disappointment was the lack of anything hot for breakfast

Was staying in Branscombe for a few days and was recommended the Masons Arms. Very difficult to get a table booking inside but we did manage on our last evening to eat outside as they don't take bookings for the outside. The food was very good and the service was excellent. Would recommend but you need to book well in advance if you want a table inside.
