Food is delicious. Atmosphere is great. Really like the little veg shop. However the vegan options are really subpar - I don't expect specialist vegan provision but more than a flapjack this day and age surely? There are dairy free options for cooked food if you eat fish or meat. If you are vegan go to the shop for snacks rather than the restaurant. Also £3.30 for herbal tea is really steep (pun intended!)

Busy place with a Restraunt, bakery and outdoors seating with a few chickens, geese and peacocks for the children. Otterton lovely little village, you can walk along the River Otter to Budleigh Salterton just a couple of miles away.

Beautiful setting. 4 out of 5 meals were great - highly recommend seafood trio or venison burger, fish and chips was small portion fish and no peas/salad. Staff not very attentive, lots of nice-enough young folk but forgot our orders and resumed chatting away after we came to ask again.

Went on a very cold day and although seated inside to eat lunch we did get cold as they have all the doors open for protection against covid. Although I understand this I would advise anyone to really wrap up warm to go if the weather's chilly. Food is good.

Stopped off here on my way home for the first time and I'm glad I did!The watermill is fabulous and listening to the water is very calming. Walking up behind the waterwheel the floorboards creek and are wonky, which only adds to the excitement!I didn't go in the restaurant but did go in the farmshop (beer)! I also went in the shop which had pottery etc... by local artists.I had a coffee from the wagon outside and it was very good. Would definitely buy more of his coffee. I sat on the riverbank and watched the ducks while I drank it. Lovely English countryside with a cute little village up the road.07/02/22 Been back again for coffee and cake. Went upstairs in the cafe which is quite small. Would suggest you pick a sunny day and sit outside. Great coffee and cake and a lovely atmosphere.

A great place to visit. Either for a pit stop or if you are walking up from the channel along the river Otter. The shop has a lot of local delicatessen and the Cafe has what you will expect. Theres a fine exebition of the history of the mill the a gallery of more or less local art and other goods.

Well worth a visit.Very attractive, authentic place. We booked for lunch which was just as well as it was busy.I bought our supper there too, it was nice to see the sort of homely wholefoods, quiche, sausage rolls, scotch eggs so difficult to find nowadays.I wish I'd bought one of the river bed granite owl sculptures but couldn't make up my mind which size to get. Next time! Can thoroughly recommend, will look forward to returning when the weather is kinder and we can sit outside.

Stopped for a hearty sandwich and a cream tea..not only is there a great choice of food but it is tasty well presented. The staff are so friendly and accommodating that also earns an extra star

Had cream tea here and loved it. It's a lovely place with lots of different seating locations. We liked it so much we went there for breakfast the next day on way back to London however was very disappointed seem to take for ever to come out and I know why the so called poached eggs where more like hard boiled, I would have sent them back but we was already there for 45min and needed to leave. Note for chef to achieve the perfect poached egg drop it in to boiling water and simmer for 2mins 30secs.
