Only visited the restaurant, but would definitely like to go back and stay the night. Had been told good things from friends and it totally lived up to expectations. Very welcoming and friendly staff. Food and drinks were from a 25 mile local menu and couldn't fault the quality.

Went for an evening meal with family - clearly very popular as very busy (was a Saturday evening) but taken straight to our table and looked after very well. Excellent choice on menu and love that everything is sourced from within 25 miles. Extensive wine list, good choices. Expensive? Yes, Quality? Yes, Memorable? Absolutely. Will definitely eat either here or at one of their other restaurants in the future.

We only came for Sunday lunch at the restaurant but we were blown away by the location. The scenery around the house is stunning whilst the building itself is packed with character. The food served was truly excellent and the service was flawless - not a bad word to say!

Fantastic stay in a stunning building and surrounding grounds. Enjoyable meal with drinks to follow in the bar and drawing rooms. Would highly encourage a walk amongst the garden to witness the vast array of grown produce onsite. Given the plethora of vegetables , I would like to have seen a slightly more exciting and adventurous menu. Can’t wait to try our next Pig!

Lovely country hotel embedded right inside a forest. Stunning breathtaking views. Food very tasty, healthy, organic, garden produce, fresh laid hen eggs presented every morning. Cosy cottage with all amenities available. Quality toiletries. Massage was a disaster though. Pricey too. The Masseuse was totally clueless and immature, lacked knowledge was amateurish. Useless tasteless massage. Hotel should be investing in proper professional Thai or Asian masseuses rather than wasting money on local clueless young immature unprofessional unreliable staff. Such shame because everything else was impeccable in this lovely spot

Having eaten and stayed at more than one Pig over the last few years I was looking forward to our meal on Monday evening, but it was a very disappointing meal to celebrate my birthday. The quality was not as I would have expected especially as two of our party had not visited a Pig before. The serving staff were excellent, particularly a young girl who was so helpful.

The pig is a beautifully odd place. An Alice in wonderland feel. The food was really nice but I'm not sure it was worthy of the price. A strange mix of stately home vibe yet with waiters in casual clothing. Mis matched crockery quirky yet quaint. It all seems to work yet makes me scratch my head as to how! The staff were great, very attentive. The cocktail was delightful. I think you are paying over the odds to feel the wonderment at the Pig. Would I go back? Probably not, but I do see why people might.

Success can be insidious. Busy, busy. We ate in the main restaurant and had a good meal but something subtle has changed at the Pig. The place was packed and though we booked 5 days in advance I got the last lunch table at 2.15. The staff were very charming, lovely, but one could almost hear the hospitality tutor standing, like the ghost of marketing, behind them. The decor also seemed somewhat subtly changed too. The original choices of objects, furnishing and colour combinations used to be what made the Pigs stand out as unique and elegant. I guess, through wear and tear things had to be altered but it seemed less original more like prop-house fill ins to cover the space (see moths in dining room). The lovely colourful glassware had changed to plain old wine glasses (were they too pricey to replace?) the wall panelling looked tacked onto the walls. It’s a danger when ‘costs’ start to chip away at originality. The place may have lost its shine for me.

A spur of the moment decision to have lunch out and 2 hours after making an online reservation we were sat in the restaurant. The last couple of miles to the venue are a little narrow and a little muddy but the place is easy to find and parking is good. The menu is all locally sourced and there's plenty of choice. My wife was very impressed with the vegetarian and vegan selection whereas I would recommend the pork chop. The atmosphere is good, the staff very polite and efficient and the food superb.I would recommend.

A delightful setting for lunch. We arrived shortly before midday and left at around 3.30pm. At no point did we feel rushed so had plenty of time to soak up the ambience.Delicious locally sourced produce cooked beautifully. The venue appeared to be run by quite a young team, all of them pleasant, helpful, knowledgeable and very well trained. A real credit to the establishment.Although the venue is very grand the atmosphere is very relaxed and the dress code is whatever you are comfortable with.Highly recommended.
