Safar Restaurant in East Devon

We were desperately looking for a good restaurant on Saturday night but couldn't get into anywhere in Lyme as they were either closed or kitchens closed. We were recommended to this little Indian restaurant and were so glad that we were. Very accommodating owner, good food (but could have been bigger servings) huge menu and authentic Indian cooking. Can highly recommend them.

Very nice food and lovely staff, portion size is pretty generous so we left full up.......:)

We have eaten and had great takeaways over the last few years, Superb food! Tonight! What a disaster takeaway arrived cold 25 minutes late and the so called free beer was not with the order! Phoned the restaurant and told no free beer as driver was only 17 years old. Was told beer on its way which arrived 45 minutes later! Curry with no beer! Why employ 17 year olds if you cannot fulfill your Customer promise! Unlikely to use again

We had a takeaway for all 4 children and two adults, fantastic service, really well priced and totally delicious! Going to eat in next time as the restaurant looks really cool.

On holiday near by, so chose to go here for our first night out.Lovely meal at a reasonable price.Friendly staff, small restaurant but clean and tidy.I would definitely recommend having a meal here.

We normally have Indian from Lyme but decided to give it a try in axminster. Food was really slow to be delivered, then it didn’t all turn up what did come was horrible chicken was so chewy you couldn’t eat it, they took nearly an hour to deliver the missing items but again forgot some bits. The manager phoned an apologised and said they were really busy and offered us a 50% refund in the form of a voucher.We used the voucher today and again the food was not very nice. Super disappointed as we couldn’t eat it. The only good but was the pudding!

Took a reservation at short notice because Cinnamons cancelled our reservation when we arrived at the restaurant. The service and food were both 10/10, I would thoroughly recommend the Achari Chicken. If you're visiting Axminster definitely give this place a try!

Wonderful Indian restaurant. Always delighted everytime we go to Safar, last night was no exception. Excellent food and excellent service. The people at Safar are lovely and welcoming. I love the off the wall decor outside as well, the giant elephant is a treasure.

Picked up Currys for five people two meals extremely poor and not edible. Spoke to manager who disagreed over one curry but refunded the other he explained very busy night done 96 masala's. Extremely disappointed spoilt new year's eve meal. Have had previous Currys with no problems but won't be ordering again.
