A really great little guest house, there are not many rooms, but the beds are very comfortable, they do a right nice cooked breakfast and if I ever go down that way again, I will do my best to stop there. And family that is high recognition and praise!

Warm welcome, beautiful gardens, a wonderful place in which to savour a delicious cream tea. The bedroom was very comfortable, included tea and coffee making facilities and had a view onto the garden.I will definitely come again.

Lovely chance to stay in a Cobb built, thatched cottage with great garden, superb cream teas and friendly hosts.Parking is good and the location is handy for anywhere south of Exeter - Honiton.Very reasonable prices so the trade off for all this is having a shared bathroom. We loved our stay here!

We were only here for the cream teas, which are always excellent.Freshly baked scones that are so light with lots of clotted cream and jam. The tea itself is always refreshing.I have never stayed here but always come back for the cream tea.

Four friends and I spent one night and we have to say that the accommodation was beautiful. It was a cottage with a very nice garden and the interior of the house was very organized. Very clean rooms and bathrooms. The next day we had an unlimited breakfast where the jam was homemade and everything was delicious. The hosts were very nice and helpful.

No idea what the guesthouse is like but the cream tea whilst sat in the lovely garden is one of, if not the best in East Devon. Been visiting for quite a few years now and it's never changed in quality. Massive freshly baked scones, and an extremely generous helping of clotted cream and jam. We usually need a lie down afterwards actually!

I was craving a cream tea for a while and I decided to go back to Southern Cross.I couldn't forget the last couple of times we`ve been there and the feeling I had while sitting inside that amazing old little house 😍. The reason I always go back is because they have the best homemade scones (warm and fresh) served with plenty of clotted cream and tasty (real!) strawberry jam. They also have a menu with lots of goodies (eggs - scrambled, poached, fried; soup; toasted sandwiches; baked potatoes). The owners are amazing, warm people, happy to see us there even if we only order a coffee. The garden is amazing all year round and is has, as a permanent guest, a very lovely, chatty Guinea Pig 💜.If you are looking for a place in which to relax and eat something tasty and fresh, this is the place!* Been back to that magical garden for the cream tea and enjoyed the sunny afternoon outside. I think they need to put some beds outside because is so hard to leave that peaceful place. 🙏💞

Have been driving past here for years, so decided try it out, wish we had popped in sooner as the cream tea was delicious! The homemade warm scones were generous in size, accompanied with loads of fresh clotted cream and strawberry jam. A perfect pit-stop if you are on route to Budleigh Salterton.

Excellent Devon Cream Tea. Lashings of clotted cream and Jam. Just how a Cream Tea should be. Lovely garden toenjoy. No rushing you. We booked for 2.45 pm and we were early which was not a problem and very much appreciated as my nephew had to return home. The staff were very polite and accommodating
