How on earth can staff in a restaurant be so rude? They ignored us as we arrived, pushed the food at drink at us, no eye contact, no idea of customer service at all. On leaving the member of staff was far too busy putting the £100 in his wallet to even thank us or say goodbye. I can honestly say, I have never met such rude people in my life. Shocking is not the word.

We really enjoyed the food. Good sauces, nice vegetable side dishes, great nan. Nice to find a decent curry.

Came out of the cinema and walked straight in and was shown to a table straight away. The manager disappeared into the kitchen, leaving 1 waiter to deal with a half full restaurant. 2 other couples came in and were seated. The waiter took 3 telephone orders and then served the other 2 tables that came after us to drinks and poppadums. I cant comment if the food was any good, we walked out !!

While the food was good the staff were miserable and I'm pretty sure I was overcharged (no itemized bill, waiter just totalled it up so maybe maths isn't his strength) Didn't go back, disappointed.

Absoloute waste of time! One waitor who doesn’t care about whats going on in the room and the other just constantly on the phone not paying any attention to anything took 20+ mins to get attention on drinks we had ordered, following on from this it took a further 20 mins waiting around for someone to take our food order which never happened as he got distracted with something else! Ended up walking out of the resturant STILL unoticed! Very rude wouldn’t even give a star terrible service!

Originally from Birmingham, the home of the Balti. I was missing spicy food whilst staying in Sidmouth.Driving past the Cinnamon Tree my partner got us a menu. The plan was to get an order for delivery as the restaurant was fully booked. My partner did say the man was abrupt when he was collecting the menu.I called to place the order, whilst taking my order the man was intermittently shouting at staff in Bangladeshi, I should know because I speak the language.I explained I was staying at a local hotel and asked how would I know if the food was delivered, I was told the driver would call me and he took my number. When I asked how long it would be the man sighed and said 45 minutes. He then said madam I am very busy and put the phone down.So not taking the risk and ordering from elsewhere in case this food turned up and giving The Cinnamon Tree the benefit of the doubt I waited 40 minutes and called them. I was then told the driver is on his way and the phone was put down on me. Needless to say the food never was delivered. All I can say, because the competion for dining out and deliveries is limited in Sidmouth, due to the increase in holidaymakers staycationing, The Cinnamon Tree think they are able to treat customers this way. I can't understand why they could not have simply said that they were to busy to fulfill an order. Instead they left us waiting and no food.

Had a wonderful meal at this restaurant this evening. The staff were very friendly and polite. During our meal a couple were seated near us to which it became very clear they were not pleased about. There were many tables in the restaurant that were empty at the time, but were booked. The couple did expressed there frustration at the owner and his staff in a unfair way but I would like to say that the staff handled this confrontation in a very professional manner and tried to accommodate everyone in the fairest way possible.

Had a really nice meal here during Sidmouth folk fest. Staff were friendly and helpful. Decent size portions, will definitely visit again.

·

Very poor customer service, arrived early, 5.45pm and only 1 other family there so although the restaurant was almost empty, my husband and I were told to sit right next to the other people, we may as well have been part of them. I did say that we would like another table for some privacy and he said no!We should have just left then as we felt really uncomfortable throughout our meal and couldn’t wait to leave. Needless to say no one else came in and all the other tables remained available, shocking treatment

Another outstanding meal from the finest Indian restaurant in East Devon. Superb service, polite and courteous delivery. Couldn't ask for more. Well done to all the staff. 1st class
