Popped in here this morning. Borrowed a spoke key to tighten 3 spokes on the way to Exeter. The spokes were seized. The guy behind the counter was clearly more interested in chatting with his mate, seated, having a coffee. No hello, offer of help and a mocking shaking of his head behind me to his mate. The café ladies were very freindly, but the service guy's attitude to customer service left a lot to be desired.

Here's a cafe and cycle shop that's deceptive on the outside. Inside, you're faced with a large area including a well spaced seating area and a very well stocked cycle shop. There's even a seating deck outside. The menu is also extensive. Spoilt for choice! I had a lovely toasted sandwich on granary bread with a crispy side salad and decent coffee. I will most definitely visit again. I did wonder why such an excellent cafe/cycle shop on a main tourist trail wasn't open on Sundays though.

There was me thinking The Filling Station was bike friendly.I’ve Been in about ten times for coffee whilst out training, spent hundreds in there.Whilst out this morning, my chain developed a mild squeak. I am a perfectionist on my bike so popped in to see if they could just drop a bit of dry lube on whilst I had a coffee. Before I could say ‘hi’, I get told ‘we don’t allow bikes in here!!’ Well that’s weird you’re a bike shop with workshop!!! As I was attempting to explain the issue to (I’m presuming it was Ben) I get told in quite a stern voice, ‘I’m not even working today!!’ (Well I’m sorry for mistaking the fact that you’re working when you are behind the counter using the till/laptop!!) I walked out saying ‘I’ll go somewhere that wants my custom. He came out saying that he had to pick his daughter up.Good experiences are remembered, bad experiences are remembered longer!! Just saying.I won’t be darkening your doorstep again.Perhaps you need to look at how you talk to customers. We all have bad days, but DON’T take it out on your customers.

good coffee and cake, lovely staff, very friendly. and if you're a cyclist, very convenient stop as you can also get energy gels, assistance and gear

Had an issue with a bike I purchased in August of 2021. Came in today and spoke to Ben and he assured me the issue would be covered if not by Scott bikes then by themselves. Really friendly and quick professional service I would highly recommend.

What a gem of a place. Very friendly staff, cake to die for and "the best" coffee. Eat in or take away, with the added bonus of it also being a bike shop! One large coffee and a large slice of walnut and coffee cake later I left a very happy man. Highly recommended 👍

We live a couple of miles away and this is one of our "locals". Very decent coffee, excellent cakes and savouries. Only possible problem is the parking outside , leaving and turning on the A3052 can be interesting! Otherwise a brilliant alternative coffee shop. Love it!

What a great find for me today. I love cycling and love great coffee. Not just good coffee though, it must be great to be worthy of all five stars. I also ordered a sandwich which was freshly made and delicious. Very friendly staff too and seating both inside and outside. I will be back, thanks guys, your doing everything right.

Just came in for a snack in the middle of a bike ride and found great new coffee shop with amazing snacks! Really supportive of cyclists and a fantastic shop alongside with the cafe, a little historic as well with an abasing group of old shell pumps, the selection of food is great and high quality and I could not recommend this place any more highly. If they were going to improve anything they could add bike hire but as it stands this is a fantastic shop! 10 out of 5!
