The Five Bells Inn in East Devon

This is, without doubt the best Sunday Lunch in Devon. IMHO. The food is of the best quality, cooked to perfection. The staff are so friendly and efficient. The place has a really pleasant atmosphere. My son, from London, says 'says you can't get better. It has become the place to eat for us. WELL DONE!

Visited lunch time for husband’s birthday treat & we were not disappointed. The greeting, service, food & ambiance were all wonderful! First time out in a couple of years & found the experience very safe & excellent in every respect. Thank you to the team, including chef, waiters etc. You are all doing a great job.

The three of us expected exceptional food, and we weren't disappointed. Super service from very friendly staff. Huge difficulty choosing from the extraordinary sounding menu, but I have no regrets 🙂 Duck scotch egg particularly superb! Thanks to all at the Five Bells Inn

On the whole the food at the 5 Bells is good but not amazing.The dishes are very well, sometimes excellently, presented but lack a wow factor in taste - though they are very good value at the price point.The desserts are amazing which speaks to the herratige of the head chef Charlotte Vincent's Michelin star background.On the whole it's a cut above your average gastro pub.

The food is consistently fantastic and the team are so friendly. Would recommend to anyone. We're very lucky to have this place on our doorstep.

What a very good experience... Lovely country pub, great staff and the food was excellent, scotch duck egg with sweet and sour picalilly .. beautiful, Hake with a rapeseed pomme puree... Excellent and to finish apple choux. Definitely be going back even if it is a bit off the beaten track 👏👏👏

Beautiful pub with lovely gardens, ample parking, good food and decent beers, at very reasonable prices.

A cosy pub with food as good as any excellent restaurant! Service was very friendly and efficient. Not an easy pub to find, but well worth the effort.
