Rooms were great, couldn't fault the food even if I wanted to & staff were excellent. Can't recommend it highly enough.

We stayed in their 'townhouse' with my sister's family which provided a beautiful, tasteful self- catering experience. With small amounts of all the essentials (washing tabs, dishwasher tabs, washing up liquid, clipper organic tea, coffee pods(nespresso), milk, fruit, shower gel, shampoo and more) there for us when we arrived. The bedrooms were huuuge, lots of space for cousins to run around together. Everything was beautifully presented but also very child friendly.Would definitely highly recommend! And the location is fantastic with instant access to the seafront and the town.

Beautiful view from the room. Bit if a pretend dog friendly, only allowed in the room and entrance, not even allowed in the bar.

Fantastic location, the hotel is so comfortable and very well presented. The food is lovely and the service is excellent. Nothing is too much trouble for the staff. They go above and beyond. Can thoroughly recommend.

Excellent hotel, lovely dining room and lounge with sea views... Extremely helpful and attentive staff...High quality fresh food, menu changed each day, plenty of choice...Not enough parking spaces at the hotel and very few spaces on the Esplanade...

Fabulous stay at The Kingswood Hotel. From arrival, staff were incredibly friendly and welcoming to myself and my dog Blue, who was greeted with a gravy bone. The room was very well equipped with little touches and the bed was amazing. Very comfortable and the room was quiet apart from seagulls but when you’re at the seaside what do you expect 😆. Tv iron hairdryer. All you need. Great electric points near bed and ample lighting for the room and bathroom. My only minor was the room could do with blinds as was very slightly over looked and I didn’t want curtains drawn and maybe an extra towel as I like one for hair and body but I’m sure they would have provided an extra if I’d asked. Breakfast choice was plentiful and suits everyone and that was very tasty and filling for the day of coastal walking. Car park near by was £12 for 24 hours as hotel was full but street parking probably available too. Beach very small for dog but coastal path made up for that. Overall great location, great hotel and will definitely thoroughly recommend and return.

Difficult review. This hotel is well located on the sea front in Sidmouth. The public rooms are very nice, lounge, bar and dining room spacious and nicely decorated. Staff are friendly and helpful. But my 'double' room totally inadequate. I know the hotel was built a long time ago and the en suite shower room took up a chunk of space. But if this room had a single bed and some furniture you could use it would be OK. But as a couple, we had nowhere to put our clothes. One tiny wardrobe and nowhere to put our suitcases, which we keep tripping over. Nowhere to work, the tiny 'desk' too small to even put a laptop. We had a balcony and luckily the weather is good. So sitting on the balcony is very pleasant. But if we had not had the balcony and the good weather, I would have walked away from the booking 10 minutes after arrival. And when I pay £170 a night, I expect any hotel to replace the glasses I use with clean ones from a dishwasher. Not rinse them out in the bathroom and put them back. Rinse them badly, which is how I knew. This may be Covid related with staff shortages, but it is still poor. In 50 years of travel, my policy is never go back anywhere, there are too many places I haven't seen yet. But even if the hotel paid me to stay I would not put up with this room again.

Really good from start to finish. Excellent choice of well cooked food for breakfast and dinner. Room and bed were clean and comfortable. Ideal position on sea front. Plenty of room in the guest lounges. No complaints or concerns at all.

Met by a member of staff that could have been a little more welcoming, and asked it would be helpful if we had a later breakfast as they were expecting a coach of visitors to be arriving later that would want an early breakfast, not really what a guest wants to hear that was already here. Amenities limited, water glasses in room dirty, two teabags, two coffee bags two decaff coffee bags, and three tissues for us in a very nice room. We will look for another hotel in the future. Although breakfast was lovely.
