The Lazy Toad Inn with Rooms in East Devon

We've been here a few times now and on each occasion it's been a great dining experience. This pub is more in the category of a "gastro" pub, and the food is excellent. The menu is diverse and my dish (the Malayan Chicken) had really lovely flavours and was delicious to eat.The staff are very friendly (and funny) and the setting of this county pub is idyllic.Definitely try eating in the outdoor pods, as they have little fairy lights and heaters (which makes it quite fun).

Only stopped in for a drink but upon seeing the menu have already made plans to return and have a meal/roast. Have wanted to see "The secret garden" since seeing photos of it last year so was excited to hear its less than 4 weeks until opening! This place has certainly turned around for the better with better opening times also since I was last here 4 years ago!

Amazing food! We sat in the outdoor pods which have heating and blankets so it's very cosy. Lovely place and we will definitely be visiting again.

Had a meal here for valentines day. The food is absolutely delicious, the service is friendly and attentive, the atmosphere was topped by an amazing musician singing and playing the piano. Highly recommend this place for drinks and food!

Thank you very much Agi Inn. I celebrated my 18th with you 30 years ago and returned this evening with my partially sighted mother. You accommodated us without booking in advance, met my difficult dietary needs capably, enabling me to relax and enjoy the evening. In addition to all this, the salmon was cooked to perfection, delicious and a generous portion. Thank you, I highly recommend.

We had a meal that totally exceeded our expectations when we visited this establishment yesterday evening to celebrate my wife's birthday. The lengths that they went to give us an unforgettable experience was way beyond the call of duty. The food was excellent and beautifully presented. We were also very impressed with the friendliness of the staff who, working together as an efficient team, ensured that there was a relaxed ambience. It is no wonder that there was not a spare table. We are booking to go again very soon

Obviously very popular locally, recommended several times. We visited with a small group Sunday before Christmas. It was busy, but not completely full. Taking our order was quite quick, but then the service was slow, taking nearly an hour for food to turn up. Mostly the food was great - but chips were cold, and for people who ordered roast, small portions. Pudding served quicker - which is probably why grapes still frozen solid. Would normally give three stars; but appreciate time of year and covid issues.

We have been here before but only for lunch so thought lets have a little Xmas Eve dinner ... and it was very good indeed, the place is a typical country pub low beams, real fire, lots of outside seating, big car park and seperate closed in pods ... Brilliant 😁, the Spam fritters are a must try, the beetroot humus was lush, my fish pie was delish, pork belly and steaks cooked spot on, my mum had the Xmas dinner and it was huge and she devoured the lot. The staff were all really friendly, so to sum up we had fantastic dinning experience 10/10 ..

Great food, lovely staff, really nice setting, the little pods outside looked especially cosy. Was a most enjoyable family lunch.

Dropped in on the off chance of getting a table. Although busy we were welcomed and sat at a table outside. Drinks arrived quickly and our food order also arrived in food time. Delicious roasted butter nut squash and falafel. Not my usual choice, but so tasty and beautifully presented. Very friendly and welcoming staff.
