The Old Ship Inn in East Devon

Food was ok although we ordered steak and kidney pie and the pastry was really hard and inedible. When we asked we were told it was suet but it was as tough as old boots. Other meals were alright. Staff were very nice.

I called in on the off chance to grab a afternoon lunch at the Ship Inn not booking a table, Sarah an the girls fitted me without any problem I was very grateful, I sat outside in the garden because I didn't want to take up valuable table spaces that was reserved. I had the steak and kidney pie and pea's/chips what a great tasty pie plenty of meat & kidney juicy gravy. Thanks again everyone I much appreciated. See you again soon, kind regards Pete Nelson

Amazing food and lovely staff. The mushroom starter is to die for!Portions are huge though so we think maybe we should have shared a starter!Had the steak and pork belly, both amazing, gutted we couldn't finish them.Had puddings to take away which were great for when our food went down a few hours later and delicious!

Sunday lunch was incredibly delicious. Also, fortunately they served food all afternoon, as we were struggling to find anywhere else after the Grizzly. Not sure if they make lamb shank and roast pork belly all the time, but I am glad they did yesterday! Definitely was worth getting out of Seaton for this.

Came in for a bite to eat before the grizzly run i have tomorrow. The place is very clean the staff are very polite and friendly. The lady behind the bar even though she was a little rushed was still kind and nothing was too much trouble. Finn had excellent table manors and service just wish i couldve eaten more. Well done guys. When i come back to race again i hope you guys are both there :)

Popped for an unplanned bite to eat, the pub was very clean and the decor was modern and tasteful. Friendly welcome from the staff, and dogs allowed in the pub which was great. Menu choice was superb and very reasonable prices. Duck dish and Lamb burger highly recommended, and if you have room the desserts are to die for.

We'd booked here after reading other reviews and were not disappointed. Very friendly team who were not too overbearing and quick to serve. Sunday lunches were really tasty. Beef, lamb and pork all beautifully cooked and there were huge portions of fresh mixed veg to accompany. Lovely atmosphere. Recommended.

Visited The Ship whilst on holiday and taken there by a friend who lives locally. What a treat. Dog friendly which was great as the weather wasn’t too good so needed to sit inside. Food was fabulous. Especially the scallops. Staff so helpful and accommodating even though they were very busy. Enjoyed it so much went back a few days later. Highly recommend but make sure you book.

Accommodated to allergens, amazing staff, lovely pub. Really scenic and just a nice evening. Sister mentioned the women's toilets being slightly not up to standards but that's all.
