The Powder Monkey in East Devon

Spent the day in Exmouth and wanted lunch, everywhere was closed then we found Wetherspoons. What a delightful surprise, a table in a quiet room next to an open fire, very friendly, helpful staff hot delicious food and the best warm brownie and ice cream ever! We’d give them 10 stars if we could.

The pizza here is next level. I have to eat them all and decide that I am over weight and unhappy with my life choices.

Went in for breakfast as a group of 6, able to order quickly using the app. The drinks arrived quickly after ordering with the food arriving about 10 minutes later. The food was hot and well cooked

Excellent wetherspoons pub. Superb location right in the centre of town only a short walk from the railway station. Choice of local real ales that were perfectly pulled. Usual wetherspoons meals available and excellent value too. Friendly and helpful staff. A warming real fire is available if lucky enough to get a seat in the area at the end of the bar

Been here a few times, not a bad pub, beer and meals are okay, can't beat weatherspoons for price and choices on their menu..... He gives people what they want, at a price you can afford, and they are everywhere, so you shouldn't struggle too find one... Bobby_G

My wife and I had a pleasant experience at this wetherspoons pub.The food was hot and the beer was in great condition and the bar staff were all very friendly. Excellent and a good time for all.

I like a good spoons just like anyone, it's cheap and cheerful, and yes the toilets are normally upstairs though.But I'm annoyed, as the vegetarian breakfast is now quorn "vegan" sausage! Us vegetarians still like cheese and milk and not this soya product stuff. (Although some may be ok) Disappointed as been a while since I had a spoons breakfast.

Placed food order with a free drink at same time, finished the meal then eventually the drink turns up after I’ve finished the meal, not good. Very slow service when you order any drink through the Wetherspoon app. Puts me off going back to the powder monkey.

The food was delicious and priced very reasonably, however staff service was a bit of a weak point.A member of staff led myself and my group to a table which still had not been cleaned. When we asked if they could clean the table, they wiped down at most a third of it, leaving a noticeable amount of lettuce and ketchup still stuck to it before leaving.After placing my order (classic beef burger with American cheese), I was presented one which had bacon in it, which was not included in the menu description. The bacon itself was not an issue, however, If anyone were to order something, they would obviously expect it to be as described. When I asked the waiter about this, he gestured that he did not hear what I said and walked away promptly before I could say anything else.Tasty, inexpensive food, just don't expect the staff to care all that much about your experience.

This place has gone down hill . The food used to be good , now its rubbish. We've eaten in there twice very recently and the food comes out cold . The tables are always dirty and sticky . The only good thing about this pub is that the drinks are cheap...... And it needs a good clean and decorate
