One execution, one public hanging and a few naked ladies....................I though that might get your attention. I always take the family here on the first evening of our Easter / winter break. It's a super pub with great décor, excellent food and good old fashioned service. Fish and chips for the kids off the junior menu. Fish pie and vegetables for my wife plus a superb rare steak with all the trimmings for me all washed down with some of the local beer. Great evening plus the colourful excitement of the Duke of Monmouth losing his head, 12 of the locals being strung up in public and ....well just look who is bathing naked in Lyme harbour. Don't believe me? Ask for a table in the back alcoves, sit back, eat, drink and enjoy a bit of old English entertainment!!

Very, very disappointing. Ordered two takeaway lunches, one was just about OK (the pulled pork gyros) but the prawn sandwich was awful. It was tasteless, wet and had no salad leaves or anything similar. For £8 a total rip-off.Asked to see the Manager to make them aware, but there wasn't one! The staff just wanted to put the cash in my hand and get rid of me. So disappointed, no ownership of the problem or desire to understand, just move on to the next customer. The worst service, food and experience in over 25 years of Lyme Regis. Come on The Royal Standard, you are better than this, or at least you were!

Nice balance: local pub (pool table, lads having pints) some gals chit chatting whilst having a cig outside - and under cover! A triumvirate of lads having a quiet drink outside.Nice for visitors: a nice menu, friendly staff. We both had fish, chips and peas. Perhaps the best fish 'n' chips I've ever had.Coffee - OK, but there's a Costa in town if they are openThere is a takeaway window outside, handy. We initially just had coffee. We asked for a wall heater to be turned on which they happily did, we came back for a meal an hour or so later. Plenty of space - Friday night late January just after 7pm.

A great pub in my experience. On a brisk winter day sitting by the fire next to the sea having a beer .... do I have to go on ? We have visited over the last few years. The food is excellent pub food but with a Greek specials menu .

·

Tried the Greek specials Stifado beef and Souvlaki both very nice, with good portion sizes. Be warned though, they do run out of the specials, 3 were sold out on the day we visited

·

Nice selection of meals. Several Greek recipes. The ones we tried were excellent. Also the burgers were very good. Tables reasonably spaced inside and patio protected by netting to ensure seagulls can't steal.

We've visited this fab place for years. The menu has changed over the years with the Greek influence. I love Greek food, but we personally visit for the seafood. And this time felt there was less of the beautiful seafood and more Greek choices. Which I imagine through the non tourist season is an absolute winner. This year was a little different, still covid safe, so quiet but a little strict. I felt. I understand why, especially with roudy customers. But I just stepped in for a menu when there was none outside and felt I'd be naughty. All that aside. As always, the food was just fab. Whitebait to die for. Mussels so fresh and just cooked perfect, seabass just beautiful. Plenty of food. Good fair prices.Children's menu the chicken goujons were not breaded or battered so my daughter wasn't so impressed. Nice chicken, but she'd have been happier with Billy basic nuggets! Kids!AnywayWe always visit, and we will be back 100%

Great service, wonderful food. Greek theme is nice, still British food available. Vegan options are good! Highly recommend. Price is very reasonable. On tap beer selection and some non-alcoholic ones too.

Really enjoyed our meal here. The whole pub felt safe and welcoming despite covid, Staff very attentive, friendly and not overbearing. Food was perfect well presented and priced fairly. Was really impressed with my fish pie which was very fresh tasting. Asked for no dressing on salad and that was how it came. Very clean interior. Only downside was drinks were a bit pricey but we were only having one each so overall price was as expected including the meal. Recommended.
