The Saddlers Arms in East Devon

Excellent, the staff were very friendly and helpful, I had the farmhouse carvery, couldn't fault it, so much so I went for second servings of veg and potatoes, so glad I did too as I didn't realise I'd missed out on the cauliflower cheese and parsnips. I'm not a veg man tbh, but I enjoyed everything.Only thing I will say is if you got a baby with you, might be worth taking your own high chair if needed, they only have 4 in the building and it's very busy for obvious reasons.

We regularly visit this establishment for their outstanding carvery that is very good value at £12.95 with a reduction for over 55's.The Saddlers is always exceptionally clean and tidy, very Covid friendly and the bar and table staff attentive and polite.Our visit this evening 14 January was no exception and we thoroughly enjoyed the carvery that was up to its usual consistently good standard. With a wide choice of freshly cooked meats and now a choice of nine vegetable dishes plus gravy and sauces, it will take some beating.Worthy of mention this evening were the very efficient waitresses and particularly the very polite young man serving the carvery, who came to ours and other tables to ensure we were happy with our meal. A very nice touch.So, all in all, another great experience, well worth a 5 star and we are looking forward to going again soon.

Hadn't been here for a while,one of the nicest carvery's I've had in a long time. It has a new layout for the carvery&it's so much better. Staff were very pleasant.

Drove there and sign on door said 'bookings only' asked on the off chance they had a space and they did but didn't stop a member of staff making derrogetory remark.Food was fine, if basic. Abba playing loudly throughout wasn't great. Although obviously this is personal preference. :)

We had a table for eight and all had the Carvery; there was a choice of two meats per plate out of a selection of four different meats with generous portions of these. There were at least seven types of veg including cauliflower cheese and creamed leeks, stuffing with cranberries in and great Yorkshire puds, excellent gravy and two types of roast potatoes. There is a menu for other dishes besides the Carvery and a range of sweets. The staff were cheerful, helpful and professional. We're going there again for my birthday. Highly recommended.

Fantastic food, both the main menu and the amazing carvery! Honestly one of the best I've had, and £11.95 for carvery and dessert during the week? Well, it'd be rude not to! Also lovely staff, couldn't be friendlier!

Probably the best carvery ever. Lovely meat with a huge range of vegetables and accompliments. Amazing Horseradish sauce too! Staff were all friendly and welcoming, but you do need to book as we saw a lot of people turned away as they were full. If we are back in the area we will definitely seek out The Saddlers again.

Popped in for a pub meal tonight. Was quite late but the staff were lovely & the food was amazing. Sat at table 34 in the bar. My hubby had the plaice & chips & I had the prawn Mary rose salad. Wow the portions were huge. Couldn’t finish mine. Hadn’t eaten that much in ages. Thanks to the Lacey & the young French lady behind the bar for a lovely welcome & kind hospitality. Would thoroughly recommend this lovely pub/restaurant. Will definitely come again

After being disappointed yesterday when we just dropped in but no table available, booked for Thursday and enjoyed a lovely roast dinner with a good selection of vegetables.Wide choice on meals other than roasts on menu, including delicious Whitebait.All round great meal with friendly staff.

It is always a pleasure to go back to The Saddlers. Great place, amazing and plentiful food and very nice staff! Last night was not busy but the quality of everything was kept at 100% and that is very important for us, the customers. We really enjoyed ourselves.Thank you, The Saddlers!
