I was very pleased with the service I received here recently. Upon arriving the staff were very pleasant and accommodating. The food was excellent, great value for money, the portions were plentiful and presented lovely. We did not have to wait long for our meals, and were pleasantly surprised when we came to pay our hill and were told the pots of tea ordered had been removed from our bill and were complimentary due to one of our food orders being held up which in all honesty we hadn’t noticed due to talking so much! This was much appreciated and we will definitely be returning. I cannot recommend this pub enough :-)

Really NOT a good experience. We had to order three different times as some foods that were on the menu were not available. Because of that The Special lamb sold out within 30mins of opening so we couldn't have that either. I settled for the only stake on the menu with veg instead of chips.£19.50.. After waiting an hour it arrived, one smallish mediocre steak and half a plate of plain cold green beens. (Yeah, no joke) Unfortunately this ruined our day as it was a special meal which is why I'm so disappointed with this place.

Been several times usually really good, this time due to witnessing a very unpleasant altercation with another Customer who's partners we feared for , the atmosphere was ruined for us and everyone else who was in the vicinity. Not the fault of this establishment but no one there seemed to acknowledge what was going on .

Went for a Sunday roast, had a look at the menu online to make sure they had a veggie option in advance which they did, however when we arrived it wasn’t listed on the pre printed menu only to be told they ‘sold out’ which I don’t believe. I then decided to have the roast accomplishments to then be told they also have no veggie gravy. So my roast which I had to pay normal price for was dry potatoes, a Yorkshire pudding and some horrible vegetables which didn’t look fresh. I then had to ask to be substituted with cauliflower cheese as my ‘main’. No real apology and no other menu being served to chose from. Won’t be going here again.

It was my family's first time to this place and we won't be coming back... my father had fish pie that had 0 flavour and mash that was lumpy and undercooked. chips tasted like old oil deserts were microwaved with tinned custard and a pound charge to have a tea spoon of clotted cream.

We had to go and find a wedding venue in Shute. So thought we'd drop in The Stables on our way back and I must say since our last visit approximately 2yrs ago we were pretty impressed. The place hasn't changed a lovely relaxing country pub on outskirts of Exeter. Plenty of parking inc disabled (out the front on the flat) 2 outdoor seating areas always a bonus. So the food Clairo had the smaller appetite Scampi which she really enjoyed I went for the The Stables Burger.... Beautiful meaty dense Patti with bacon, cheese, tomato and I think remaine lettuce. Very good, pile of thick steak chips not my favorite but ate half of them, I found the slaw could of done with more dressing but that's just personal choice, good choice of drinks. The servers were very good, so yeah a very nice experience and one we will be repeating 😁😁.

An absolutely stunning venue with fantastic service! Beautifully lit up at night. The food was outstanding - I highly recommend the ribeye steak and don't forget a sauce!

Staff was very professional especially Hayley, our waitress. Very accomodating but not over the top. Food was served quickly and tasted amazing. We love it here and will definetely be back.
