Called in on the off chance for Sunday Roast .We were looking for a dog friendly pub too. We were made very welcome and having the dog with us was no problem. Lovely roast with a choice of 3 meats veg a Yorkshire pud and lovely roast potatoes .For a extra 1.50 our dog enjoyed a roast dinner of his own . Staff couldn't have been more obliging .Will certainly go again when next in the area..

Very old pub. In Honitons main road and easy to find. Full of character.Extremely friendly and helpful landlord. Long back outdoor courtyard. Front room overlooking street and long bar beyond .Food is available, we arrived on curry night and had 2 pleasant meals.Pub is dog friendlyWe visited in mid August when the landlord had just taken over the building. Pub needs redecoration but we felt sure that this enthusiastic landlord will quickly improve decor and we are looking forward to our next visit

Wanted a dog friendly pub to stop at for breakfast.Covid measures still in place and everyone respected that.Attentive staff who brought out a fresh bowl of water for the pooch and before we knew it our breakie arrived. Good quality ingredients and hot on arrival. We'll deffo go here again if we're passing through

The best pub in Honiton now. New landlady, they are providing amazing service. The service at the star is awful, and these guys are showing the way for locally run Devon pubs.

Traditional local pub in a historic building dating back to about 1770, a former coaching inn, hence the narrow entrance and courtyard. It's the oldest pub in Honiton, smack in the middle of the High Street, and has an impeccable tradition of welcoming locals and visitors alike. It's quite unpretentious inside (a 'long narrow pub' reflecting the nature of the coaching inn layout, with ample outdoor seating) and expect "well lived in" surroundings and decor. The beer is good, with a couple of guest ales, and changed regularly. The food is home cooked, traditional pub grub - tasty and wholesome and at a decent price. Friendly landlords and bar staff, tv available, usual amenities, nice local pub without airs and graces.
