My family and i went for a cream tea whilst on holiday at devon cliffs,it wasnt the experience i was expecting, the owner came out and said what do you want?we said cream tea.we were told cream tea was just the scone,so we ordered scones and tea for us all, there was a board outside that stated nobody was to go in at all! When it came out,it was in what could only be described as a kebab box and the tea was in a polystyrene cup,.my daughter in law asked what soft drinks they had,he said what do you want? She asked for appletiser.he said no,so she had coke.the whole lot came to ÂŁ22.the man said ill bring your change over,he never,so my son asked him for it,when he gave us the change it was 80p short, when i mentioned it,he said it was ÂŁ22.80,i know its on a small amount, but he definately said ÂŁ22.i went to this cottage a long time ago when i was about 12 with my mom,i wanted to go in and have a similar experience. Sadly it wasnt and i left feeling quite deflated.the owner we thought was quite rude,we will not be returning.

it's a shame covid has given them staff issue would have loved to eat there. Had a drink and was best pint I had all week . Lovely garden to sit in and blinding choice of music they was playing

Nice little place, just the two of them working hard but absolutely no complaints & enjoyed scones & cream/jam... or should it be jam/cream...? 🤣

We visited Tythe Cottage today as we wanted to enjoy a traditional Devon cream tea in the sun while on holiday at Devon Cliffs.Sadly both the service and the food quality wasn’t the best, no complaints but we left feeling a little disappointed, especially as the location and ambience is really nice. The cake wasn’t great, tasteless plain scones (my 10 year old daughter bakes nicer) and the sandwich fillings were very average using cheap ingredients.Due to COVID everything is served in polystyrene takeaway boxes (which is ok if I had ordered a takeaway) so an afternoon tea served in a kebab box isn’t quite the same and definitely not inviting! The garden and location is lovely though, so a nice 15 min walk from Devon Cliffs if you fancy a change.

the place is really pretty, really fits the cottage-core aesthetic however the food was more pub style and obviously microwaved. was warm when served and was alright. overall not bad, would reccomened more for tea/scones

We visit this place every time we come to Devon Cliffs. It was a different experience this time due to Covid, but just as enjoyable. We tucked in to a cream team as usual, but it came in a takeaway box instead. Great to see small businesses doing what they need to so they can keep trading!

Great place. The staff very friendly and helpful. Food is amazing... Scones, jam and cream... Great value and very tasty.... Highly recommended. It is a quaint place so for a peaceful drink and food, visit very soon.... And you don't need to break the bank to eat here. Portion size is very good

The menu and food is what you'd expect from the outside. Very pretty garden, cheap and cheerful food. In need of a bit of maintenence but not dirty.
