Very friendly and welcoming staff. Sunday lunch was lovely as were the puddings. Well worth a visit.

Fantastic pub. Friendly staff and great food. Very welcoming village pub serving traditional food with proper portions and sensibly priced. Well stocked bar with a choice of real ales. Nice beer garden and ample off road parking. Looking forward to visiting again.

Friendly local people who offered advice on walks. Great food, steak and ale pie huge, vegetables and dauphoise potatoes, mushroom stroganoff very tasty. Good choice of puds, apple and blackberry crumble yummy and banoffi pie good. The lovely waitress even gave our dog a treat. We will be back.

Friendly atmosphere and welcomed us in at very short notice on a mid week evening. Plenty of space to feel safe. Attentive service. The best steak and ale pie! Large plates of food and very tasty!

We always make sure we have a meal at the Village Inn when visiting family in the area, lovely people and wonderful food and beer.

Great pub atmosphere and lovely staff too. Got very busy later on in the evening but arriving at 6:30pm there were lots of tables available. Good menu selection, the starters were especially good. Would go here again.

This was quite a find. Recommend you book in advance as it's quite popular - for good reason. We were seated in a lovely conservatory (due to having a dog with us) under a fruiting grape vine. Portions were ENORMOUS and very tasty. Cheap too - just £9.70 a head or so. Staff and locals were friendly. And accommodated our dog just fine.

One of the best pubs I've been to in many years! Excellent Ale, excellent food and fantastic service every time we visited during our week long stay in the village, and dog friendly too (in the tiled areas). Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere, highly recommended. Get's busy at the weekend so be sure to book a table if you plan to eat.
