Today 4 of us had a lovely tea and hot chocolate. The sandwiches were full of a very nice varied filling, cakes were so fresh and scones were lovely . The young man who served us was friendly and very helpful. We have been to Angels before and will continue to recommend. A very nice experience. Thank you.

Went for afternoon tea. Food was nice, scones were lovely but service was poor. No-one came to check if we were ok at any point throughout our visit, no offer of more drinks, I had to go to the counter to give my groupon code. Most of the time they were just stood around chatting or on their phones and no real atmosphere. Wouldn't return

Very impressed after our 1st visit this afternoon booked via Groupon. Absolutely fabulous selection of sandwiches and cakes etc.Even supplied with a box to take home goodies we couldn't manage to eat! Pleasant waiter, rather a quirky interior, but quite charming. We shall visit again, around Xmas time.Thankyou.

Food is excellent for the money. Staff were attentive and friendly. Lacks a bit of atmosphere, needs background music. Does breakfast past 2pm - i think it's the only place in town that does. Nice tables outside next to the river. Surprised it's not more popular than it is. Maybe if they started charging double and called it something like 'Rivers rest organic boutique' then people would come.

Purchased an afternoon tea for my partner as a birthday present. Wow what a mistake. On our arrival we entered a weird looking sweet shop and had to walk through the dirty hallway to the "cafe". The whole place smelt of dirty fried food, cheap and tacky furniture and the 2 members of staff there was very strange and stood the whole time on their phones. There was no atmosphere, it just felt very awkward. The afternoon tea came.... a hot chocolate the size of a flower pot, followed by some over filled sandwiches, I've seen better sandwiches at a child's party. The platter was spilling with nasty packaged salad loaded with sweetcorn! Scones were yellow, stank and resembled a Betty Crocker packet! 2 tasteless portions of jam and they tasted revolting. And well..... the icing on the cake... oh no there wasn't any!!! they was dry, flavouress and was like a child had made them, one was a ginger cake!!! mixed in with some cut up grapes? All very very odd. Will I be returning.. NOT A CHANCE!!!

First visit with friends for lunch, who had been before. It was clean and tidy , good ,well priced menu. Quick and friendly service. Good sized portions . Also quite busy , in itself a good sign.No reason not to return.Jenny S..you base a one star review on the colour of the walls, you say your review is probably unfair, so why did you bother, probably the most pathetic review I have ever read, and that's not unfair

Dissapoointed with the cake selection, poor quality and tasteless. Scones just seemed to be microwaved nd tasted slightly stale. Sandwiches and hot chocolate were ok but nothing special. No atmosphere and only 1 other couple in there which says a lot! Groupon deal purchased, however no difference from the shop price. I will not be returning.

Had an afternoon tea with my wife today. The food, drink and service was very good. We had booked the tea via Groupon and were surprised to discover that the afternoon tea was cheaper ordered from the standard menu than booked through Groupon. If anyone wants afternoon tea here I would recommend booking direct as Groupon is more expensive. I’ve contacted Groupon and they say this is normal at this tea room.

We had a Christmas gift of an afternoon cream tea with hot chocolate booked through Groupon, the appointment was for 1600, on arrival we were told that they close at 1600,so why they booked it I don't know, we were told we could come back another day but we'd travelled a little way so not an option, then we were told they could rustle up some sandwiches but they had no clotted cream! And the manager would stay and serve us. To be honest the place wasn't very nice, smelled of fried food and the staff weren't helpful at all, no apology until we walked out, definitely wouldn't go there again!
