Superb meal, relaxing hospitality - I will keep returning for as long as I'm able

Excellent festive menu, 3 courses for a very reasonable price in a lovely relaxed atmosphere. We had the turkey and beef main courses which were cooked to perfection. Large choice of wine although the red wine could have been more room temperature but otherwise I would be really struggling to find any complaints.

A delightfully quaint yet abundantly stylish B&B in Cranborne. Superb quality cooked breakfast, served by the uber charming young Ella. Just had a single night stopover, though wish we could have stayed longer...and sampled the highly rated dinner options. The chef most definitely has all the right credentials.

Have never been disappointed........we have eaten here over many years. Excellent tasty choice of fresh food with regularly changing menus at very reasonable prices. Highly recommended!

Great local sourced food with French and Global cooking twist! Simply the best cheese board ever. Charming restaurant and hotel rooms.

La Fosse is one of the best places I've ever stayed at. We were there only 3 days and wished we'd booked for longer. It"s a very relaxed (and relaxing) 'restaurant with rooms'. Our room was spacious and comfortable and full of character with a huge bed and some odd mixed styles of furniture. There were 2 downstairs sitting rooms, one with maps and guide books of the local area. But it was the restaurant that made it so special. The food was delicious, varied and often surprising. We had the taster menu on the first night (6 different small portions of typical dishes served in the restaurant by Mark the chef) so we knew this was definitely a good place to eat for the next few nights and were not disappointed. We were too full to manage the final course - the cheese course- and the waitress suggested leaving it for the next evening. We did this and were offered the 12 or so cheeses as a 'free' dessert the following night. Mark came out of the kitchen to tell us what each cheese was ab.nd where it was from.Apart from the food I liked it that people dressed as they liked, some rather formally and elegantly and some in casual hiking clothes. Finally the breakfast was the most efficiently run we've ever come across ( each table with its own toaster!) with healthy local food.

Booked 2 rooms for the night before a wedding and we were made to feel very welcome from our arrival until our departure, we could not fault the hospitality. The rooms were clean and well presented and the whole theme was very much in keeping with the surrounding area. The evening meal was excellent and the following mornings breakfast was perfect for the day ahead. Would definitely recommend.

Reading the reviews here I understand they mostly relate to food experience which I can’t comment on as unfortunately I did not try the food. However my experience is related to hotel rooms and sadly it was so disappointing that we had to leave a day before planned - tiny room, small uncomfortable bed, small shower with the plug blocked, just not enjoyable and definitely not worth the price. I hope the owner will be able to provide a refund through booking.com.Dear owner of La Fosse - thanks for your response, this was a genuine feedback on our stay - we DID not have breakfast in your restaurant and yes we went out for a day as we drove 3 hours to the hotel so we thought we would at least enjoy the area as we did not enjoy our stay at your hotel. The reason we wanted to cancel before was that we had doubts about ur measures on covid however we decided to give it a go. It is sad to see that instead of trying to accept the feedback and improve your services you are attacking your guests. Appalling attitude - never faced it anywhere before. We think you should give us the refund and work on improving experience for your guests instead of coming up with conspiracy theories.

What a hidden gem! We stayed at La Fosse this weekend. We also dined in their restaurant for the gin pairing 3 course menu. Excellent service. Delicious food and an epic cheese board to finish. Thoroughly recommended.

The La Fosse was recommended by Lisa from the All Hallows Farmhouse. The dining room is relatively small and looks like you are sitting in the owner's living room. Very family and rustic. The food is all local and partly even comes from the chef’s garden. The food is of an extremely high standard and can easily compete with excellent award-winning restaurants worldwide. The La Fosse is a hidden gem in this area which is connect to the local food community. It was so good that we had to visit it twice, if there hadn't been a chili festival on the third day where the chef took part, we would have visit the La Fosse three times in a row.
