"A proper village pub serving food and drinks every day. Our chef has been an integral part of the Red Lion for many years and continues to provide great dishes every day including our amazing Sunday roasts. Under new management . A dog friendly pub which with a separate dinning area. Our amazing beer garden which continues to be a work in progress overlooks a small holding with horses, chickens, sheep and pigs. With plans for a mobile horse box bar and fresh sour dough cooked pizza and BBQ in the garden when the sun comes out we can cater for all your needs. Come and give us a try!"

We stopped for a quick bite in between restoring power to homes (a very long shift). Normally we'd only manage a takeaway or fast food. The food was amazing. Probably the best steak pie I've eaten. The portion size was good, to the point after not eating for 12hrs I still left some.Highly recommended!

Great food. Very helpful owner. Nice cosy pub where you can have a nice conversation without having to shout above the music

thank goodness we only booked 1 night, the room was small no pug in the sink, the bed was clean and comfortable. The lady serving the drinks was very pleasant, we were there on a Sunday night the only food available was a carvery or Pizza. we ordered the carvery, the food was in a hot plate and had been out from Lunch time we ate at 7.30 so was not the best,we then sat to have a couple of drinks before retiring, the door to the kitchen leads into the bar and as kept open, a radio was on and turned up so load we couldn't hear our selves talk, the chef/manager was banging metal food containers on the counter tops making it obvious we weren't wanted in the bar so we and the only other couple in the bar went upstairs to bed.breakfast was from 8-10 so we went down for breakfast at 8.30, the door into the bar was locked, we looked through the window no lights on in the kitchen. phoned the bar no answer. waited 10 minutes nothing happened so went back to our room packed and left and will never go back in there again.

The place was gross, food was overcooked and bland, glasses were dirty. We were greeted at the door by a cloud of flies, we would have turned about if we were more familiar with the area. Picked the carvery and it was nothing short of rank. Meat tough as boot leather and veg for the most was bland. Halfway through the meal I noticed the swarm of flies over the carvery. All in all a manky experience. I would avoid if I were you... At least the table was clean 🤷

We stopped for grub on the way home after a weekend of too much food and drink! We had done a decent walk though so were hungry! We opted for salads to try to kick start our healthy new us and we weren't disappointed. Healthy and substantial!

Very friendly pub. Had Sunday roasts, very reasonably priced with large portion of meat and unlimited veg. Desert is good too. Would recommend if you stay nearby.

Best place to stay and for camping in Dorset! Amazing food, especially the Polish cuisine section, great atmosphere, lovely people and Radek, the manager, he takes every effort to make you feel like you are his special guest. Great experience, I can highly recommend.

On the main road, but despite being busy and late we were able to get served on tables outside.Thank you to the lovely lady...I think you were the manager.....for finding ourselves a table inside as well after we ordered.Food was good sized portions and made a change from cooking at our cottage. If it wasn't for the fact it was at the end of our holiday, we would have come againLovely service and the bar staff were all so polite too..Thank you!

We got there just at the end of service but they squeezed us in. Pub very nice, very old-fashioned interior (as in timeless classic, not tired and knackered). Food was good, pizzas only due to problem with gas supply but we were pleased that they could feed us at all. Staff lively, keen to please.

Upon arrival it didn’t appear there was an electric pitch for us as booked, given a gap in between a few others that had clearly taken up to much space an told to unplug their electric as they were using to many. Walked around the site ourselves an spoke to another person who was leaving that morning so we asked to pitch up in another area where the electric would be available once the other person had left (avoiding conflict) this was fine. The grass in the fields doesn’t appear to be cut at all and there are large dips so you need to be cautious to not damage your vehicle.Facilities are fine in terms of you have what you need for camping however they are not checked or cleaned regular so are unpleasant majority of the time. For £30 per night this is getting close to haven prices, but a far way away from the haven service/facility.The staff in the pub are very friendly, however it’s a very relaxed/unprofessional approach. The food is ok, but pricey for basic pub grub. The pub isn’t very clean, table surfaces sticky, food down the back of seating areas and dusty cobwebs. This place is in a great location, so the owners really could invest some time an money into there offering to really make this a great place for people to stay whilst visiting the Jurassic coast.
