Beautiful roast beef, great village atmosphere, lovely bar staff and the best chocolate brownie I've had in a long time!

The Sheaf of Arrows in Cranbourne was recommended to us by a group of friends who had a meal there a few weeks back. We definitely were not disappointed. Recently taken over, the new owners have done a wonderful job of the place and were really friendly and inviting. I am glad we booked as it was very busy. We had their traditional Sunday roast, the beef was really tasty and the Yorkshire's were huge. We didn't have any room for pudding but from what we could see they also looked good. Maybe next time! Thank you Sheaf of Arrows, you certainly get our recommendation. Look forward to visiting again soon.

Best pub in Dorset! The owners are so kind and welcoming, the atmosphere is cozy and clean, and the food (especially the sticky toffee pudding) and drinks are the best! You absolutely need to stop in if you’re in cranborne.

A great village pub, fab food and good ales. We used to come to this pub a few years back on our walks. To hear it was back open and under new ownership was great news. The place looks really cosy and inviting, quite an improvement on how it was before. The landlord and landlady were really nice, nothing was too much trouble and they definitely have a real passion about the pub. The ploughman’s was massive and all very fresh. Loved the local beers too. Great pub!

OMG just had the best Sunday - Mothers Day lunch with my lovely daughter - the atmosphere, food and dessert are amazing. Katie the barmaid is super professional and the owners are the best. Having been born and raised in Cranborne the Sheaf of Arrows has been my go to every time I return from overseas. This is the best I have ever seen the Sheaf, very tasteful style, cozy and very clean!

Had lunch at the Sheaf of Arrows today. I had the fish finger sandwich and my friend had the bacon and brie sandwich with chips. Both were delicious and the chips were amazing! A lovely village pub and really friendly staff. Looking forward to returning soon.

110% do NOT go here! An absolute farce to have been kicked out by a woman so incoherent at basic maths and manners that she couldn’t understand how the menu was showing a different price for the items that she was trying to charge us for. Never go here, food looked dreadful, rude staff, nasty atmosphere!!

I visited this pub yesterday (Saturday 26th March 2022) ad witnessed something really bizarre. Two lads (young, around 16-20 at a guess) were contesting the prices from the menu which apparently did not tally with the prices being charged at the till. The landlady (I assume, because she had the authority to kick them out - complete overreaction) got really flustered, blamed them for holding up the queue (when it was her till/menu that was causing the delay) then kicked them out and barred them. She really lost control of her temper. If she is an experienced pub landlady, she will have seen all sorts so should easily have been able to handle two teens! They were not being rude. One was asking a lot of questions but he was trying to make sense of why they were being overcharged. I admired them, I would not have had the guts to stick up for myself at that age! She could have called for more staff to help the queue (we were paying by cash so they could have rung this through later). She could have asked them to modify their tone, if she thought they were being disrespectful (they weren't). She could have owned the mistake and apologised. She did none of these things, no attempt to defuse. Complete loss of control. Bad customer service, I found it embarrassing and not representative of the friendly Cranborne people! I will not be going back.

This is a lovely pub, under new management and is a real gem. Wonderful home cooked food, cosy and comforting ambience and really friendly and inviting. Log fire...good range of drinks...and tasty afternoon tea treats too. Set in beautiful country surroundings. The perfect place to visit.
