Popped in early, was very busy, fortunately we had booked. The staff were friendly and nothing was too much trouble, we ordered drinks and our meals, all arrived in a timely order. We have dined here before and we’re very pleased with the curries. Tonight was even better, everything about this little gem is just perfect. Will be back again as soon as we can.

Unfortunately we had an appalling experience at Taj Mahal today, I booked a table for 3 around 2 weeks prior, Upon arriving at the arranged time we were made to wait 15 minutes to be seated, even though there were several empty tables that we could have used. We then got shown to our seat by a completely uninterested waiter, who was cleaning tables on the way to showing us to our seats... the table had no napkins or glasses laid out like all of the others. When we questioned this and the empty tables, the waiter said they had been prebooked, to which i responded that we had also prebooked! They then used the excuse of being too busy to serve us and hadnt got round to us yet as they were serving others. Bare in mind the restaurant was half empty. Looks like they were treating us as tourists knowing we wouldnt be coming back, when we're in fact local, and they had forgotten our reservation (even after telling them our name etc upon arrival)! We got up and left after they served us our poppadoms and had a much better experience at Rakhang across the street. Avoid like the plague.

Took the family to Taj for a sit down meal on bank holiday Monday (31st June 2021)Firstly the homely welcome was lovely, as I had my 11 month old son. They all were great with him. And helped us with moving the buggies and getting a high chair etc.Amazing spicy poppadoms to help decode what we wanted to order.Wow!!!! The BEST flavoursome Indian I think I have ever tasted.Highly recommended, either take away or sit in. But sit in you really to the best hospitality.

Covid friendly? Not really. No social distancing here! Very busy, crowded in fact. The food was very tasty but only luke warm straight from the kitchen. Might return but would try to pick a quieter time.
