tap and Railway pub in East Dorset

No trains running past the pub. Food atrocious,only good thing was leaving.

Food was lovely but they had run out of a lot of the dishes on their menu by the time we came to order on a Friday night so be aware that you may be disappointed. There were two ladies behind the bar. One was the nicest lady but the other I found rather rude. When ordering food that had run out her reply to "please may I have ____?" Was "no because we don't have any left." I think her customer service needs working on a bit. Other than that this is a lovely pub with a great atmosphere and they even have a darts board and a pool table which we enjoyed using.

Smashing service. Great team and great manager. Here for the rugby with a wicked table. Nice one guys

We haven't been here for a few years after a disappointing meal. This time I am pleased to say the food was good and the prices are low. The staff were extremely helpful and friendly.

First visit to this pub was a fab experience, staff very friendly, waiting staff were great, and food delicious.Second visit , with family, was a very disappointing experience, food serve was not up to the standard of previous visit.Have to say the waiting staff were lovely, very accommodating, and tried hard to make our experience a good one.

Arrived this afternoon to find an empty pub restaurant area apart from one family eating. Front staff huffed and puffed at seating two people in an empty room at 1500. Kids menu not on the app which was frustrating. Ordered meal at the bar at 1507. Starters arrived at 1600. Eventually the main course arrived at 1645. We were the only people eating. Kids meal arrived on a red hot plate with a red hot bowl on it containing red hot pasta which was placed directly in front of our 17 month old baby. No consideration given about him getting burned. Our food to be fair was excellent. We checked all the empty tables around us and they were all reserved for groups after 1700 up to 1900. Apparently accommadating us was a major issue in an empty restaurant. We would have liked to have been there less than a hour, this was lunch after all, and if we had been served promptly then the staff would have had an hour between us leaving and the first group arriving. We won't be back. And pubs wonder why they are going out of business. Perhaps welcoming paying customers and treating them well would help.

Excellent friendly pub.I was concerned when the manager said that due to staff shortages food might be delayed.However, within half an hour our meals arrived. The food was very good and obviously came out of a kitchen with very professional staff. The portions were very generous.The Halloween disco for children was in full swing when we left at 6:00pm but it did not disrupt our meal and created a very nice family orientated atmosphere.Next time we visit our aunt we will be back!Thank you!

This is a good place to get food, the staff are friendly, and the portions are generous. The pub is family friendly, with an area dedicated to the restaurant.The food was done to a good standard and it was priced very well.The is a good sized car park with disabled bays and an outdoor eating area.Situated very close to west moors town center.This is definately a place I would recommend

Amazing pub and sadly a short flying visit as we were walking the Avon Valley Trailway to poole from Ringwood. We will be back very soon.
