Interesting menu and well executed, quality food. Friendly and welcoming staff. Great spot to combine with a trip to Badbury Rings.

·

Great location, friendly staff, beer good (tho not my preferred dark bitter - I guess catering to demand).

Stopped here whilst on a cycle ride. Intended to just have coffee but the menu was too tempting! Lovely pub.

·

Friendly welcome from all the staff, interesting beers that are rotated regularly along with popular favourites. Food menu is creative and uses local produce.

·

Lovely village pub, visited for a drink but will look forward to visiting again to try the highly recommended Sunday roast 😀

Nice village pub with tables outside and inside. Good range of drinks and snacks including some home made. Freindly staff. Menu looked good but the kitchen was closed when we arrived on a walk. Bar had some local produce for sale as well.

Had a very good lunch here. Six of us in total. The service was good. One minor thing I would change is that my crusty bread was sitting in the prawn juices so it was soggy. Other than that everything was very good.

Went to the anchor Inn for a Sunday lunch, when we arrived the pub was busy and there was a good lively atmosphere. We had booked the table for 2ish so it was a fairly late lunch. When we arrived we were greeted by a friendly member of staff who showed us to our table and took our drinks order. In our group there was four adults and a dog so we had to book a table which I would always recommend on a Sunday. When we ordered the food 3 of us went for the roast but I thought I would try off the specials board so I had the tacos to start and the chicken burger for main and the honey Panna Cota for desert. All I can say about the food is that it was probably some of the best Pub food I've had in a long time and I eat out a lot. If your after really good freshly cooked food and friendly and welcoming staff you can't go wrong with the anchor Inn and I would highly recommend it. It's not the cheapest pub I've eaten in but if you quality you don't mind paying that little bit more for it .

Really really nice to be back dining at superb restaurants again after so long away and I’ve been waiting to experience the menu and food standard here as their reputation precedes them, and deservedly so. Lots of choice including delicious vegetarian options. I had the Turbot starter which was especially delicious. Fish main dish also excellent and I had the treacle tart. Good choice of wine and on tap beers. Staff friendly and service good for a busy Sunday, at which they have a good choice of roasts and other specials on the day. No noisy tv or music, just a lovely ambiance and chatter. Sit inside and outside. Popular cyclists pit stop. Lovely quaint little village with bespoke florist next door to pub. Parking on-site. Really worth the drive out into the countryside to discover this special gem. Worth it all.

This was my husband's and mine first visit to The Anchor Inn and it was just delightful! We sat in their outside area and ordered the Ploughmans. It was one of the best, tastiest Ploughmans we've ever had! Full in flavour! Ohhh and that warm, crusty bread roll with some butter and some cheese was sooooooo yummy! It was a beautiful place to be as well and we would recommend it to everyone!
