Very disappointed with the standard of our meals.we called to meet up with Family yesterday unfortunately our food left a bit to be desired! A flat bread which I felt was very soggy and really not enough Goats cheese. The triple cooked chips well frozen deep fried 3 times probably. Very poor. The partially toasted crumpet with crab was tinned or frozen and more like Tuna. Not at all what we had expected. One or two Very pleasant staff but no one bothering to clear plates even on vacated tables. Shame as this could be a very nice place .it was once . We won't rush back.

Visited here on Saturday morning with a friend. I live in Wimborne but I haven’t visited for a long time.We arrived about 10am for breakfast!, wasn’t particularly busy. Ordered breakfast and tea/ coffee. That came straight away!. Breakfast arrived about 25 minutes later, by then we had finished our drinks so had nothing while having our breakfast. Mine arrived, it was Luke warm. And I had 2 pieces of some type of bread. That was rock hard!.I did make a comment to a member of staff about the experience. The breakfasts were In my opinion overpriced and definitely not value for money.I have had breakfasts in several places in Wimborne and this was the worst!. I would not go back for this and I wouldn’t recommend to anyone.

Went here for a birthday meal. Starter was nice squid tacos. Others mains looked good (burgers pub grub) an I wish I’d gotten that as I had the prawn spaghetti and it was strange to say the least the spaghetti had either been cut up or snapped going into the pan, so was in tiny bits very odd, the sauce was just olive oil it was literally swimming in it so greasy. Was expecting something authentic I guess like Italian kitchen but it wasn't’.Then came the drama with the bill. We were a good party of ten and we paid separately. When it got to the end there was some money still left on bill (over Ā£30) we couldn’t figure out what this was for neither could the staff. The head waiter got quite shirty and was just in general quite rude even saying well ā€œuntil this is sorted I won’t let you leave šŸ˜³ā€. She had already showed the same attitude earlier on when discussing a small change to our pre order (we scrapped the change in the end as it was too much drama) anyhow the extra turned out to be drinks that were paid for at the bar at time of order but the card machine broke and it didn’t go through so they moved it onto the bill. This would have been fine had they let us know that straight away. But they didn’t, it descended into an argument and much embarrassment.Having worked in pubs myself for many years if I’d made an error like that, then tried to blame the customer causing a scene I’d say the least I could do would be to apologise and maybe waiver that Ā£ but no neither of those happened. We left thinking wth went on there. Don’t think we will be returning for a group meal there soon tbh. Shame as it’s a lovely pub, beautiful building, some food was nice but being made to feel like we were trying to cheat them out of a measly Ā£30 when we had already spent Ā£100s was just not on it’s not what I want from a service establishment.

Staff were welcoming & polite, & the pub itself was very clean, with nice decor. We were a little disappointed with the food - we went in for the roast & found the potatoes to be quite hard & dry. I definitely think I could've got a better roast in London, for a cheaper price. Also, we'd ordered a burger from the kids menu, for our son, & he didn't finish it cos he said it was too chewy - when I looked at it, it looked dry, like it may have been put under the grill for too long.

The Ultimate Christmas Burger šŸ” was delicious. The mulled wine was perfect. The staff were very pleasant.

Ā·

Food was good, we are vegan and the options are really limited and what is on offer wasn't easily identifiable. For example i knew they did a bhaji burger but it wasn't on the paper menu. Drinks not listed and also staff not aware! Food was good though and nice environment

Good food, large range of dietary adjustments, very catering. Staff were very friendly and service was reasonably fast.

Second time visiting and having a lovely meal in the marquee. So lovely in there and well done for all your efforts. Beautiful surroundings and would be great if you can get to keep the marquee going after lockdown. Highly recommend it.

The food was really good. Absolutely loved the marquee and how it is decorated. Made a special occasion that bit nicer. Good service. Nice overall experience.
