Friendliest pub I town so far for a new boy. Nice friendly customers who talk and don't have a mobile stuck to their face.

Had Sunday roast. Nice, cozy and very friendly people. Best food I had in the UK in 2.5 years, would highly recommend.

A friendly, local, lively pub. We went in for a Sunday roast and were not disappointed. Quite busy when we went, but to be expected given time of day! Also had dessert which was very nice. Great food and great value.

Went for food on a Sunday, it wasn't entirely clear they only served roasts on Sundays and we only found out after asking for menus. We'd booked in advance and there was a bit of irritation of the part of the staff when they disagreed amongst themselves about where we were supposed to be seated - this should be kept out of sight of customers as it makes us feel stressed on your behalf! Roast was on the better half of okay, potatoes were heavily seasoned with pepper, gravy was a bit watery and broccoli could have done with longer cooking but serving size was very generous and meat tender. Our server explained there was pork, beef, turkey or nut roast available, the latter being for 'those annoying vegetarians'. Luckily none of us were veggie or vegan, but that comment from the server did suggest a not particularly welcoming atmosphere to vegetarian folk!

We sat outside by the river and had a drink on a lovely sunny afternoon, which was pleasant enough. The pub was busy with plenty of customers in the garden. There is also an area set aside for watching sport on TV. Both these things made it quite noisy. Sorry, I can't comment about the food or the ambience as we didn't eat there and only went inside the building to use the facilities.

A very spacious place. Friendly staff. Even sent out for sandwiches from a local shop as they couldn't offer food today. Lovely decking areas outside next to the river. Child friendly too. Great experience thank you

Had a great time at the Rising Sun. Steve and all the team made us SO welcome, good beer, great food and so pleasant sitting outside.Thanks for making our stay so enjoyable.

First time here. Originally came for food but none available at the time so we just had a couple of pints instead. Great place right along the river. Lots of seating inside and outdoor which is where you want to be in the summer. We will definitely be back during that time and get food next time too! Small parking lot in the back.
