We're not from around this area so googled a pub to eat at and found this one, and we're so glad we did. The staff were all friendly and the atmosphere welcoming. The food was really good, we had the big fish and chips and normal fish and chips which were amazing, 2 kids meals which were great value for money and a chicken burger which was good too.Would highly recommend this pub and just wished we lived closer!

This is one of my favourite local pubs, quality food, good price drinks, Great atmosphere, has a pool table and just a great place to meet up with friends and it’s never so loud that you can’t hear what your friends are saying. Also dog friendly, if your in there try the Katsu Burger, it rocks.

Great Greene King pub - real sense of regulars in here. Lovely front of house with tabled seating and the bar; then there's the walkway between the front and back rooms, with the loos and rear entrance in that space. The back room then hosts some TVs, a pool table, and is generally for a busier, younger crowd. Also doubles as the function room if you have any bookings.Good selection of your usual ale and cider on tap (lager if you're so inclined, too) with a great range of spirits, especially on the rum front (for a chain).Lovely staff, with the occasional music nights - but no quiz or karaoke as a regular thing.

·

What a fantastic pub. Something for everyone with the 2 sides. Staff always friendly and food and drink always spot on.

·

Hidden bar at the back reveals its twice the size that it looks from outside, located on magdelen Road one of the best locations in Exeter, good menu which also caters to vegans.

Heard it was under new management so decided to pop in for a lunchtime pint. I was pleasantly surprised to see the kitchen open so we decided to order some food. I ordered the Fish and Chips and it was incredible. I was informed at the time of ordering that items may take a bit longer due to staff training but I didn't mind waiting when the food was that good.I hope the new management are able to keep the kitchen open and wish them all the best. You will be seeing me again soon.

I popped in Tuesday evening at 7.30pm for the first time with my 18yr old Daughter, on the spur of the moment on our evening stroll. We live 30mins away in Belstone. Typical City outskirt pub. Old grand building full of character and history. Warm homely feel and a friendly welcome from the smart dressed dark haired bar man. Lovely pint of pale ale and coffee for Daughter. We shared a light bite of veggy nachos and then continued our walk back to RD&E hospital. Very pleasant visit. I don't know how these pubs survive through the recent pandemic but I'm so glad they have. Well done team.
