0 stars given, but not an option. We thought we'd treat ourselves after a tough time...so decided to go somewhere special. We stood at the sign 'Please wait to be seated' for ages and was totally ignored by the 2 people serving. After sometime, we approached one of staff and asked if we could go and take a seat...we were spoken to appallingly. The worker ORDERED us to go and stand back behind the sign in such away, we were astounded. They might have been busy, but there is no excuse for being rude. Needless to say we walked out.

Visited today. As soon as walked in we were acknowledge and led to a table right next to the only other person in the place!!! Why do people do that?!I asked for the sofa kind of seats which we were given. They are very battered chairs but were comfy! The cafe has no life or soul to it, very dreary!I ordered a tea and an almond croissant. The tea was very weak looking but did actually have a bit of flavour but the croissant was dry, had a weird after taste and a tiny bit of Almond paste! Tescos have better ones and that’s saying something!!!I did eat it as needed some sugar but I will not be returning as it really was an expensive and quite horrible experience.

Popped in on a lunch break whilst working in Exeter city. Was served by a young lady called Sophie, fantastic service. Delicious food with plenty of choice. Fresh flowers on every table were a lovely touch.

Started off badly and went down hill from there. We where greeted after a while and told they where busy. Told they didn't have a table for us so just sit on the low table, wait, and they would move us in a minute. (we could see a few tables where available)We where given menus and another couple came in. (they asked if there where a table for 2) they where taken to a table right away.....When we asked when we'd be moved to a table we where greeted with a ' we'd have to make one up... Ugh follow me' we where taken to one of the preset tables. From there we ordered. Half our order was forgotten. It arrived way after we had finished eating and where about to leave. (we declined the food as we where leaving)We both ordered egg products with sauce. There was very little sauce. The eggs where over cooked on one half but snotty on the other?? (I have to admit.. That is a skill)upon paying the server stated 'am I taking the chips off your bill' the chips we didn't get.... Yes you are. There where a few other things but I feel would be acceptable if the experience was not so bad.We have been going in for around 4 years now and this will be our last.

Me and my partner had afternoon tea here for her birthday and it was really nice! The coffee was really great, and the afternoon tea was surprisingly filling! Everything was interesting, the scones were warm, the sandwich fillings were tasty and the sweet treats were nice! The afternoon tea came with unlimited drinks, it's reasonably priced for what you get. I bought an afternoon tea voucher from red letter days, which worked out cheaper.

I bought a gift voucher for an afternoon tea for my mum for Christmas. She used it today with her friend in the Exeter branch. She was highly delighted and couldn't praise the food and service enough . Thank you. A very happy customer ( mum) and made my day to see her so pleased with my gift

A bit disappointed today, food was tasty but cold, service was very good to start off with but then quite slow, when questioned, staff didn't seem as knowledgeable as they should have been about the dishes. One of the dishes we ordered was the Chicken & Chorizo Croque, it had what looked like a brown slice of aubergine, unless it was the cucumber, who knows, the staff asked didn't so none the wiser, suffice to say that bit got left! The cakes weren't as fresh as they could be. Coffee was lovely. Surprised items not available when only 12.30pm

Ordered a £52 cake for my mother’s birthday and didn’t ever arrive. Poor customer service trying to offer a voucher for the value first before refund. We were so excited to order from here but won’t in future and certainly won’t recommend.

Two of us visited Exeter branch yesterday for lunch. The service was very slow, I had the Eggs Florentine, which tasted nice but was barely lukewarm. There was no paper in the ladies loo at all. When I paid, I told the server about these two 'small grumbles', but he made no response at all, just looked at me, and simply charged the whole amount. Very disappointing- won't be returning.

The orders took a while to come, but they were quite good, pancakes could’ve looked and tasted better,
