Pizza Express in Exeter

The staff are always friendly and helpful. Even when we have our dog with us, really kind bringing water out for him, helping him settle and he loves aunty Wendy the manager, she always makes us feel welcome!

Our booked table wasn't ready on arrival, but that was quickly resolved. Quick service and good food. Our server ensured we were able to access the mobile app for free dough balls each.

The staff were young and appeared inexperienced. I ordered a coffee and asked for sweetner but was offered a blank look and a vague offer of sugar. After explaining it was sweetner I required they eventually went off and found some. The girls stood in the corner together with their arms folded staring out at customers, which makes the experience feel quite uncomfortable. It was a quiet evening with few customers, yet the food took a long time to arrive. Unfortunately the food wasn't any better. The dough balls were lovely however the children's chicken pizza wasn't very nice (could be personal taste but 3/3 of us didn't like it). The barbeque burnt ends pizza was sadly burnt (black edges) and the pizza base was really hard. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she explained that you f I was a student I could get 30% discount. That was all she had to say. We paid the bill in full, with no apology. We will not return to Pizza Express again. The prices are very high for the quality of the food.

Good lunch although service was a little slow. Would definitely return for the simple reason that they catered for my multi allergy daughter with no fuss - the large vegan menu they had meant she didn't have to order something different or obscure - she ordered straight from the menu and felt like a normal child!

Tried one of your new meals of aubergines, tomatoes and cheese. Unfortunately I didn't like it at all. The aubergines were grey, chewy and difficult to cut. I didn't say anything at the time because I didn't want to spoil the occasion. Staff very friendly, starter and desert were fine.

Great night at Pizza Express Exeter. Very attentive and friendly staff. Food came out swiftly but with plenty of time to enjoy a chat and drink. Clearly a very busy night and although a table behind us had obviously been pre drinking and smashed 4 glasses, staff kept the table under control and the mood light. Wendy (manager) even came over and apologised personally. Thanks Wendy and team. We wouldn't hesitate to eat here again.

The guys n girls (&manager) were great here. Food lovely. Ever since our Maidstone express closed down we have been pining for proper pizza. Thank you Pizza Express Exeter 😘 😋

Amazing service from Wendy and the team after we accidentally booked the wrong day! Despite being super busy Wendy was determined not to let my birthday be ruined and managed to squeeze us all in. The food was delicious and the service fab Thank you team!

We had a wonderful meal at Pizza Express this week. There were thirteen of us and we were able to pre order our food which led to a very smooth dining experience. The serving staff and the manager were incredibly friendly and efficient. Our food was delicious and exactly as we ordered. We loved the seasonal food and drink options. We highly recommend this location!

We didn’t have an amazing experience, but the staff were all nice. When we ordered the Garlic bread with vegan mozzarella we were given the non-vegan one. I ate some and we knew instantly, so we mentioned it to the waiter and they changed it. They didn’t offer to take it off the bill – it was just a bit gross and disappointing.We both chose to get the vegan Funghi Di Bosco, which after 45 minutes since ordering, tasted kinda average. It could have definitely had more vegan cheese on. The classic base option didn’t come with basil on, which was again disappointing. I couldn’t find a waiter so had to help myself to chilli oil.Probably wouldn’t come here again for the price
