Taste of China in Exeter

Toying between leaving 3 or 4 stars. I think the food is really good here, one of the best in Exeter. Something that lets this place down greatly is their estimated time vs the time they actually give it (for collection)It’s happened about 4 times now, once was New Year’s Eve, so I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt as it was super busy.But other times (including tonight) I have called to order, been told 30mins for collection. Turned up 30 minutes later and then been left waiting outside for another 20 minutes. I’d rather when calling they just told me it would be an hour as I’d be happy to wait at my house for 55 minutes , then drive to collect it when it’s actually ready.I will be trying other places now as this really is quite an inconvenience even if the food is delicious.

Went through a whole order for wifes birthday dinner, only to find at the very end THEY DONT TAKE CARD PAYMENTS. COD only, in this day and age, who has cash?!!!

Always lovely when a special treat is required and always order too much!

Terrible service. Lady on the phone was very rude. We ordered almost £100 of food, and with the order being wrong by missing off a dish, I rang to get it swapped. She wouldn’t believe me saying she had packed it herself and that the order was right. In the end I hung up as I was getting nowhere. Rude service and she should listen to a customer if an order is wrong after spending so much.

Lovely food ready when ordered over the phone. Taste was good and the ingredients were good quality

Lovely, hot food. Staff really friendly and polite. Really impressed with the quality considering it was a Sunday evening, where I'm sure they're really busy. Will definitely be returning.

Great local Chinese takeaway, extensive menu and friendly service. They don't take cards for payment but there is a cash point at the Tesco's right next door so it isn't far to go to grab some. All set up for covid with a large plastic screen and even a speaker/mic to hear you through your mask :)

Taste Of China is the best Chinese Takeaway this side of the river.We use them everytime we have a Chinese now.They have a great delivery service and at a very reasonable price.We had Sweet n Sour chicken,Beef and mushrooms and Chicken Fried Rice(Which is one of the best I've had for a long time)I no everyone's taste is different but as a family we really enjoy The Taste Of China.5***** from us
