Sunday roast was wonderful. Tasty beer. Pub with lovely relaxed atmosphere, landlord and lady to boot. Nothing too much trouble. Definately revisiting..

·

Very distinct pub with unique decore. Good food like veg pie and duck. If you want something unique and different from the main stream then this is the place to be. They also televise sport on match days. Check opening times and book in advance. There's a good selection of drink as always. Very much liked by the 'posh feral'.

Brilliant pub... great atmosphere, delicious food, ales ciders & gins, friendly & efficient service.... all round terrific, we will definitely return!

·

Great little hidden cosy pub, especially if the fire is on! More seats out the back for when it gets busy too.Great beers and I hear the food is good too.

Staying over wanted somewhere close to the holiday inn express on Tudor Street. Wasn't sure they rake walk in but we'd chance it. Looked a mix of people having drink and ff. They accommodated us and ordered what we thought would bec3 courses but we were bested by the mains. The starters were lovely halloumi fries been light rather then greasy like some. Soup delicious and of course homemade. Both mains came with mash , one been the sasuage and mash the other been the vegetable pie a very big pie it was noted. Sausages 3 big juicy sasuages with red wine gravy whilst the pie had mushroom gravy, a salty offset to cream mash. Enjoyed the atmosphere but the staff were lovely behind the bar makes a visit and note to remember for returning. Next time we visit Exeter from Readng.

Lovely atmospheric pub. I had no booking but they were able to fit me in. Staff were very helpful and friendly, great service. Lovely food!

Very good food in particular the fried calamari appetizer was outstanding. Good selection of beers and good service. Slightly overpriced but really good

Wouldn't go again in haste, but it's OK.It's made of small rooms. Walls are painted black and with a variety of pictures and wood decor, including bare plywood ceilings. The main room has a real small stove in the fireplace.Service was good. The plus side up that the music was very quiet and you could actually talk.I had a bottled lemonade but others said that their drink was "very much a house pint" as it was a bit "odd"

We throughly enjoyed our meal last night. Lydia, our waitress, was on her second shift and she was attentive and delightful. The atmosphere was great, even with restrictions, the owner came over and was equally attentive, making sure we had everything we needed! We will be back again!

The food here is very very tasty and is definitely worth checking out. Fish pie was fresh and wholesome, and the pulled beef has great flavours. The service is always friendly and following COVID-19 rules, which is also reassuring. Dog friendly and a great fire.
