A lovely refurb last year. Smashing staff, fab tapas menu and they all idolise my beautiful dog, Hugo. We really enjoy a relaxing drink (coffee) after a hard day's work. Well worth a visit. Nick

Unfortunately a disappointing experience from start to finish. Booked a table online for 5.15pm only to be told on arrival that the kitchen doesn't open until 6.00pm.(no phone call or e mail to explain this after booking was taken!!), After discussing whether we should try another restaurant, the Barman, who was very pleasant said he had spoken to the Chef and he would take care of us immediately. On being shown to our table we were seated close to 2 members of staff tucking into their Roast Dinners (deliveroo , I can only imagine, what with no Chef on).The Waiter was from young, tried his best, but was unaware if a Childs menu was available, this was confirmed when one of the staff members interrupted her Sunday Roast to explain that this was an option and gave us a children's menu. Our roast came in good time and was cooked nicely , although we were a Yorkshire pudding short and all the dinners were at best "warm".Perhaps if we were informed on the booking time discrepancy we would have had a far more pleasant experience.

Food is very good, staff seem friendly to locals but were short and brief with me. No parking on site but there is a carpark 5 minutes walk, you need to pay but not between 17:00 to 09:00am. Rooms are good with a large bed only downside was can hear the room next door quite a lot and the TV's are tiny for such a large room

Visited on Christmas Eve, first time out in weeks following the loss of my mum. We have been going to The Globe for 15 years and has been one if my favourite places to go, but we were bitterly disappointed. The Globe has new management, but we were still expecting a good experience, but this sadly was not the case.We were first told we couldn’t have the festive menu as this was not available (even though we had booked for it and I would still expect this on Christmas Eve!). The food we had was okay but uninspiring, very expensive and certainly not worth the cost. Veg consisted of kale and boiled potatoes. The place seemed very understaffed, and although there were only a dozen of us in the restaurant we were totally neglected. There was no management to be seen, so total chaos and by 8.15pm they had stopped serving food and were more interested in cleaning up and setting up the tables around us for Christmas Day whilst we were still trying to eat. I was very disappointed and upset and by 8.45pm we left and went to The Passage House down the road. Usually we would spend the rest of the evening at The Globe. It is very unlikely that we will return, which saddens me after 15 years of going to The Globe for dinner, lunch, coffee and cakes and drinks with friends and family.

Went to the Globe yesterday for a pre ordered Christmas meal . What I had to eat tasted lovely but the food was not as described on the menu. I had short rib of beef which was beautifully cooked but the veg consisted of a single spoonful of kale and some mash potatoes definitely not worth the price I paid and I will not be recommending anyone else go there. A goats cheese starter and short rib main cost almost £25 and I don't even like kale. Meal was advertised as coming with leeks and carrots which were never even seen.
