Great traditional pub with lovely festures, good beer and friendly service. Highly recommended

Great pub, great beer, food underwhelming. The fish stew was the consistency of a thick chilli con carne - not what I was expecting. The mussels had dried out from overcooking and the advertised squid was totally absent. I'll go back for a beer, but I won't be eating there again

Glad we switched our Easter Sunday family lunch to here after popping-in mid-week to sample the Darkness. Roast was to everyone’s taste, good value and service masterfully coordinated by Ben & Co. Being Quaysiders we are thrilled to have this local legend back in business.

This pub kept coming up on my Instagram feed so decided to finally check it out. What a gem of a pub, proper old bar area, lovely staff. We didn't eat but will definitely go back for a highly recommended Sunday lunch.

Popped in after a meal, for a few beers and had a great time. It is what a pub should be, suitably rustic and a good selection of beers at a reasonable price.

Such a unique place, lovely atmosphere, superb beer choice, fabulous food.

Great to see the Hour Glass open again as of Dec 21 under the wing of the Exeter Brewery. It really is a lovely, interesting and quirky pub. 13 of us went for Sunday lunch for a birthday celebration and all had a brilliant time. The food was excellent and the service faultless. Will definitely be back, thanks!

Love the Hour Glass. Great little community pub off of the beaten track. Great selection of beers now that it's run by Exeter Brewery. It's small and cosy but there is more seating downstairs.

Very happy to be able return to this wonderful pub. Lovely cosy feel, with exceptional food and service. We will be back!

What a superb little find. Quirky pub with an array of wines to complement the food. We had the Duck & a risotto which were both superb. Extremely friendly staff and the odd cat walking along the bar. Dog friendly & a lovely atmosphere. Can't wait to go back.
