'The Impy' is arguably the best Wetherspoons pub in Exeter. With two bars, three indoor seating areas and two outdoors to the side and front (watch out for the seagulls!), it's no wonder it's popular, especially with the students from the nearby College and University. As with most 'Spoons there's a good choice of alcoholic and soft drinks as well as hot beverages. The menu offers a wide choice of pub grub, including steaks, fish & chips, curries, burgers, and pizzas. Lighter snacks are available too.Look out for the Beer Festivals that take place. You can try three different beers in thirds, which is a great way to sample new brews 😉.There's a decent size pay & display car park on site, but the pub's is within walking distance of St David's station.Good service in a unique setting.

Great place, love the old features of the building and plenty of space particularly out side if you have children.Typical weatherspoons food menu, great prices.Furniture could do with updating but overall good value for money with friendly staff

Since closing our Exeter office I've needed a base to do work when out of my home office. There's always a free table, the Internet speed is good and there is table service. Friendly staff and a great location. Almost always a parking space at a sensible rate too.Wednesday afternoon/evening during uni term time can be raucous with the sports teams mind.

Well what can I say.Use the app you will get served quicker, what a load of tosh 40 minutes.I only used it because there was 10 people waiting in a spoons queue for Christ sake put more than one bar person on.I am not waiting for a bus I am waiting for a pint.Got to the point now than I now look at the bar and if there is only one staff on I go somewhere else so I don't have to be treated like a school child and queue like a naughty child.

Lovely pub. Typical Wetherspoons but very nice building. Downside, it was a bit cold, no heating on, and you have to pay to park

Lovely location and old style decor in a fantastic building. Standard Wetherspoons fare but pretty good. Ordering from the app was perfect and hassle free I was impressed. My daughter had been hankering for eggs Benedict and loved itShame about pancakes not being on the breakfast menu anymore and the baked beans being Heinz light- with sweeteners as they are super gross

Huge pub, really nice but very busy so not ideal if you want a quiet chat. Enjoyed it there myself though. Food was as you'd expect from a 'spoons and not a huge ale selection but good none the less

Great pub as always. It's a Wetherspoons so it does what it says on the tin.Always very busy. Parking on site is £1 for one hour, £2 for two (Max).Outside seating area is great in the sun.

Fairly typical Spoons in that you know what you are going to get and the prices are very reasonable. Good service, and perfectly able staff. Like many places bought by Spoons, the building it is in is fabulous and although like a barn in places, many original features have been left. The orangerie is particularly impressive. Lots of space inside, and outside of the weather is acceptable. Reasonably large outdoor covered area but most outdoor dining is not covered. Pretty close to the main station, didn't look particularly at the car park, but seemed adequate.

Beautiful old, historic hotel now a Wetherspoon's pub offering their popular food and drinks at very reasonable prices. The Orangery in particular is a great place to enjoy it all, as we did. Descriptions and old drawings in each room give a sense of the history each area had, as well as of Exeter itself.
