The Lighter Inn, Topsham in Exeter

Visited as a group and was pleased with the overall service. Not a huge choice for vegetarians or vegans on the menu but food was of a good standard. The service was quick and reasonable choice of drinks. Seems a very good place to bring a family and dogs welcome.

Visited here on a busy Saturday lunchtime recently. I had spoken with some customers who were just about to leave as many other inside tables were reserved. I mentioned to a young waiter what I had done, he said fine, I will give the table a clean and please come and sit down. The ordering at the bar was very efficient. Our delicious fish and chips ( which seemed like fresh fish ) was cooked to perfection. The staff which we encountered were young,polite, friendly and a credit to the business.We hope that you have a great season going forward. 👍 😉

Have been twice with my family and enjoyed the experience, however the the second meal we had was on a Sunday lunchtime where my beef was almost 2/3 fat, when I asked the waiter to tell he chef that the meal was lovely apart from that, there was no redress, a bit disappointing..Great setting, on the river Exe, friendly and efficient staff. Fair pricing. Cosy and intimate pub.

Great in every way. Staff attentive and polite, great consistent food at reasonable prices and great selection of drinks. Also a lovely atmosphere inside.

We got there on a Sunday to find they didn't have the roast dinner. We decided to stay as they offered some gluten free options. When ordering pretty much everything was sold out and this was at 1pm in the afternoon.We then had to wait over an hour and half for the food which was just ridiculous as the pub was more than half empty.The food was fine but nothing amazing for the prices.I'm really disappointed, later on the Monday night over to Tuesday my mother was is celiac was throwing up and extremely ill from the food. So looks like like gluten free options aren't so gluten free after allWouldn't recommend at all.

The food was poor value for money. A single crab cake with more of a garnish than a salad, and a poorly seasoned Southern Chicken burger. Service was decent.

Good tasty food at reasonable prices. Friendly and helpful staff. Our table was well-spaced from others - which is important during the pandemic. A very pleasant evening.

Fantastic place. Great food served by great people. Would highly recommend to friends and family alike.Can't wait to return to try some other dishes on the menu!

Looks good, friendly staff but it was my birthday and I was there for a 'nice' coffee and lunch. Woops, no milk. Although I could see the carton in the fridge and then saw it used for other people while I was drinking a rum and coke that I didn't want. I gave up on the food as the menu was a bit bland and as I was off to a bad start I thought it best to cut my losses and go elsewhere.

Visited here 2 months ago. Sat outside and ordered food and drinks via the app. Very quick service from the friendly staff especially as it was very busy. Lovely food. Will be back again sometime.🙂
