The pub itself sits on a square of shops, all of which are closed on a Sunday afternoon. First impressions: it's an 'estate pub', intended to satisfy the drinking needs of locals, rather than as a destination venue for tourists. The interior was wide and spacious, yet the low ceiling of exposed support ribs gave it an enclosed and slightly claustrophobic feel. The regular clientele were as you'd expect, men with shaved heads and tattooed arms ordering lagers, though the presence of a classic rock tribute band (Sea Dogz) had brought in a number of outsiders: middle class friends of the band, aging rockers from the circuit, yours truly sitting in both camps. The band were excellent, and their music went down with the crowd so well they've been asked to come back and do a Saturday night.

Absolutely love this place. Great atmosphere. Nice when they have a band and and can chill with friends.

Great Saturday night out at the Lucombe oak again. Saw AC/ZZuk 🤟 The name says it all! Loved it! Great pub with lots of seating and a good size dance floor. Be back very soon.

Was very disappointed.if u have nothing to do but drink your life a way this is pub for u.no food and was told that we had to move tables as the 4 old locals we're upset that we're taking their table and that they had drank in the same pot for the last 30 years personally I would have been embarrassed to say that I had been sitting in the same place doing the same thing for that much of a long period the pub was empty apart from a sparkling of other old people drinking gin I'm sure you know what I mean. Out of the other pubs that I visited over the weekend at Exeter by far the worst my advice is to walk up Carrick Street or down Carrick Street to another pub but avoid that one. All the other pubs had a bar menu they were more than happy to do hot food throughout lunch and dinner this is the only pub we went to that did no food at all such a pity I went to that pub and used to drink there 2-3 years ago they had the best food going. Is this the reason that they keep changing the name of it constantly. One would really hope that the next owner Paul's the pub back to how it used to be B- 10 years ago. I haven't posted a photo because it looks no different. Take my advice and walk past

Absolutely gorgeous food.. if there was a breakfast menu it would be a 5 star!! Comfy booths to sit in and lush atmosphere definitely an amazing job done doing the place up well done ☺☺🍻🍻

Now that the pub has changed to a green king things have improved to no end! Nicely decorated inside, great prices and the food is fantastic! I hope that things stay the same as it a great place to spend the afternoon. Would be even better if they did breakfast, guaranteed 5 stars if they did.
