The Terrace Rooftop in Exeter

Waited for ages to be seated but once there the food and drink was good and reasonable value. I did visit when they first opened and a lot had changed,making it less special than it used to be. It’s a shame the nice outdoor part is a smokers haven. However, I would recommend The Terrace as a perfect place to chill with friends.

Loved huddling around the boots with cocktails. My friends birthday sparkler was a lovely touch 💥

Went for lunch at 1pm. Lovely food, drink and staff but the music was so bloody loud I couldn't hear my friend sat across the table from me. We went for a nice lunch and a chat. Not a rave! Asked twice and was told the manager turns its back up. 3rd time talked to the manager who said it's their "policy" that they can't turn the music down. On this occasion the music was turned down but was turned back up before we finished our meal. We were told it sets an "atmosphere" the only thing it was setting was headaches. We found out it was a night club company that bought the Terrace so that might explain why the staff have been told they aren't allowed to turn it down but I'd imagine a lot of people would avoid this venue for lunch. Set the scene which is appropriate for the time of day. Fair enough to pump out music if it was in the evening before a night out but not at lunch time in the afternoon.

Visited The Terrace for a small leaving party in May 2022. It’s a very special place with great views of the cityscape including the beautiful Cathedral. Staff were really attentive and the food was very nice. Will always make time to visit this place whenever I visit Exeter for a night out.

Always a lovely atmosphere, beautiful flowers throughout! staff are kind and polite, food was lovely. Portion size on the chicken skewers could be bigger for the price, and skinny fries being made a option instead of jist chunky chips. But overall good each time I've been. Will return.

Whilst the food was very good I didn't like the making of my drink. The bartender had her hands all over the rim on the glass, the ice patted down with her hands and no tongs used for the mint. I felt I was given a filthy look by the bar staff when I complained. I also saw a different bar tender drop something into a cocktail and then retrieve it with her fingers. So basically I thought food hygiene standards were lacking.

Great bar, really good atmosphere, be careful when you order drinks, one barmen tried to charge for doubles which adds over £10 on a round but all the other staff were genuine. Is this what he was trained to do???

Cocktail session fantastic fun well done to Charlie 👏👏.As for the food our starter's were cold and we had to wait even though we had pre orderedKept getting order wrong but told us there was a menu change without telling us so the vegan and vegetarian got a chicken curry instead of meat free, no chicken in the ceaser salad then half the dessert not available. All in all great night but don't bother with the food.

Was served real chicken instead of the vegan alternative. Didn’t realise until it was too late as I haven’t eaten meat for as long as I can remember. Only clocked it when I spent most of the next day violently ill as my body can no longer digest meat. Massive pity as it’s a really pretty place and the drinks are lovely, but I’d rather not defecate undigested meat so will have to stay away.P.S. thank you for ignoring my email about this

Amazing roast dinners. Huge portions. Side order of pigs in blankets had over 20 pigs in it for £4. Cauliflower cheese is unbelievable.
